Brown put on a nice performance, playing with a chip on his shoulder, and going at Brennan like he had something to prove. Brown proved to be a tremendous athlete, he’s well known as the most athletic point guard of his class in the state and it showed throughout the game. The senior floor general burned defenders with his speed and quickness and once he got inside he showcased his explosive bounce. Brown even produced a few highlight plays, the most notable coming halfway through the second quarter when T’Johnn made a fantastic change of pace of right to left crossover that led him around his man and into the paint where he then rose in the air off one foot, and obliterated the rim, posterizing two contesting defenders in the process. A more noteworthy aspect of his game was his playmaking, facilitating, and court vision, Brown did an excellent job of constantly scanning the floor in search for a teammate to feed and he made sure to get it to them in a timely manner with speed, precision, and accuracy usually hitting them directly in their hands, a true lob threat as a passer and natural shot creator for others. Currently, T’Johnn Brown T’Johnn Brown 6’0″ | PG Dallas Kimball | 2023 State TX holds offers from 3 different Division 1 schools with more on the way, this young man is going to be a steal for whatever program he chooses to further his career at. This season, T’Johnn Brown T’Johnn Brown 6’0″ | PG Dallas Kimball | 2023 State TX looks as if he’s going to be able to excel right away at the next level in a limited or bench role before he eventually emerges into a starter.
As usual, Evan Phelps Evan Phelps 6’0″ | PG Duncanville | 2023 State TX displayed uncanny defensive anticipation, but it was his offense that stood out on this day. Phelps ate defenders alive with his tremendous breakaway speed in the open floor, he showcased a great understanding of how to get downhill instantly. Evan got into the paint almost at will, splitting defenders and converting tough layups while the drawing contact as well as the and-1 foul call.

Ashtin Watkins
Ashtin Watkins helped on the offensive end by using his physical nature to be a strong finisher off the bounce near the rim, showing the ability to initiate contact in the air, keep his balance, and finish the play with a change up or up and under lay-in. Watkins also spaced the floor well throughout the game and worked out perfect towards the tail end of the game where he nailed one of the biggest shots of the game after a drive and kick for an open catch and shoot three-pointer from the left corner bringing the deficit down to 5 points. Ashtin also played with amazing effort from beginning to end no matter what score was on the board.
The future Arizona Wildcat came up big toward the end of the game against Corona Centennial, first by making two clutch free-throws that gave Duncanville a 57-55 lead with under 2:30 minutes. On the following defensive possession, K.J. Lewis K.J. Lewis 6’4″ | SG Duncanville | 2023 State #30 Nation TX came up with a steal at the top of the key and proceeded to fly down the floor for a layup that stretched the lead by four points. When it came to crunch time K.J. Lewis K.J. Lewis 6’4″ | SG Duncanville | 2023 State #30 Nation TX went into attack mode and closed the game out.
