Returners:
Blue Valley Northwest: The Huskies were handled by Wichita Heights in the state finals, but they return a wealth of talent from that bunch, led by stud guard Grant Stubblefield Grant Stubblefield 6'2" | PG Blue Valley Northwest | 2023 State KS . They’ve got length to spare, starting with forwards Joey Matteoni Joey Matteoni 6'8" | PF Blue Valley Northwest | 2024 State KS , Jaxon Klein Jaxon Klein 6'6" | SF Blue Valley Northwest | 2024 State KS and Landon Braun Landon Braun 6'5" | PF N/A | 2023 State KS . If some new guards can take up some slack, they will have a plethora of options on offense.
Wichita Heights: The Falcons were explosive and diverse a year ago. They lost some of that explosiveness, but you can bet there will be some new studs ready to seize their chance. Point guard is in the capable hands of Marcus Zeigler Jr Marcus Zeigler Jr 6'2" | PG Wichita Heights | 2023 State KS (pictured). The big question is where will TJ Williams TJ Williams 6'5" | SG Wichita Heights | 2024 State #176 Nation KS play basketball this year. If he’s on the court for the Falcons at any point this season, it’s a game-changer.
Challenger:
Manhattan: The Indians have one of the best bigs in the state in Jack Wilson Jack Wilson 6'6" | C Manhattan | 2023 State KS . There is a lot of length on the roster, including a couple of new faces in Landon Knopp Landon Knopp 6'4" | SF Manhattan | 2025 State KS and the Newcomer twins. They will look to some newcomers like Miles Braxmeyer and Jason Kim Jason Kim 6'1" | PG Manhattan | 2024 State KS at guard. How much can they improve on their 9-14 record from last year? We’ll see.
Unknown:
Mill Valley: They were just 10-11 last year. They have so much young talent, you would expect a big improvement this season. They start with highly-regarded sophomore Carter Kaifes Carter Kaifes 6'6" | PF Mill Valley | 2025 State #317 Nation KS and senior guards Dylan Blazer Dylan Blazer 6'3" | SF Mill Valley | 2023 State KS and Jameson Fisher Jameson Fisher 6'1" Mill Valley | 2023 KS . They also can look to junior Dallin Wallace Dallin Wallace 6'6" | SF Mill Valley | 2024 KS . But questions include how transfer Gus Hawkins Gus Hawkins 6'6" | C Mill Valley | 2024 State KS will fit in after blowing up in football. And a big question is over how the Jaguars will adapt to the 6A level after getting bumped up a class.
