As an added bonus, all games were live-streamed on the 7outz Network and are currently available on the network. The event provided me with a terrific opportunity to lay eyes on some new potential prospects. In this article, we take a look at some of the fresh faces from the event.
“Shak” played like Shaq this weekend. The burly big man showed some nimble feet, and a nice soft touch around the rim. He finished a ton of baskets around the hoop, using jump hooks and turn arounds. He suprised with his face up game, several times going by the initial defender before finishing at the basket.
Liked Nickerson’s production on Saturday. He played with some energy, and showed scoring ability when attacking the glass. He should provide some production for Shadow this seaon.
I thought Stewart was solid for Bonanza. His best skill was his shooting and he was accurate from the corner. He’s more of a shooting guard, be he did handle the ball, and at his size projects out as more of a combo guard.
Tolliver looks the part. He has a good frame, and long arms, and moves quite well. He is raw, but I liked that he was willing to mix it up around the basket. He made a few putbacks simply by staying active around the rim.
Johnson has decent size for his position, and showed some skill. He was most effective simply running the wing and finishing in transition. He found other ways to score as well, stretching the floor and making outside shots for Bonanza throughout the day.
I liked what Davenport did as a role player. He was one of the top Glue Guys, scrapping for rebounds, taking charges and giving effort. He’ll fit in perfectly with a Las Vegas team that shares the same play style.
Foothill always seems to find size, and Putnam is another example of that. He’s still raw, however he was able to be effective defending on the interior and rebounding the basketball.
