It should be another excellent year in bootheel with several talented players returning to the fold. Charleston returns a strong crew from its Class 3 state championship team while Cape Girardeau Central and Class 4 Final Four participant New Madrid Central are also poised to have big seasons. Sikeston also has some impressive young talent.
THE STARTING FIVE
Cameron Williams Cameron Williams 6'8" | PF Cape Girardeau Central | 2023 State MO (Cape Girardeau Central): The 6’8″ 2023 forward returns after leading the Tigers to a district championship and berth in the Class 5 state quarterfinals. The versatile big man averaged 23 points and 10 rebounds a game as a junior. He can dominate in the low post and take his game to the perimeter to handle the ball and shoot 3-pointers.
PJ Farmer (Charleston): The 6’1″ 2025 guard had a big debut season in leading the Bluejays to the Class 3 state championship. He averaged 15.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and two steals a game, but he averaged 26 points during the Bluejays postseason run to the state title. He has already received multiple Division I scholarship offers.
Jadis Jones Jadis Jones 6'5" | SF New Madrid Central | 2024 State #248 Nation MO (New Madrid Central): The 6’5″ junior forward returns after leading the Eagles to a third-place finish in the Class 4 state tournament. The athletic southpaw is a terrific scorer and rebounder inside as he averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds a game as a junior. He had a high of 19 rebounds last season at the Bass Pro Tournament of Champions.
Rico Coleman Rico Coleman 6'4" | SG Charleston | 2023 State MO (Charleston): The 6’3″ 2023 wing was a vital part of the Bluejays Class 3 state championship team in his third year as a varsity starter. As a junior, he averaged 15.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.3 steals a game. He is very disruptive on the defensive end in the Bluejays’ full-court pressure action.
Dontrez Williams (Sikeston): An athletic 6’4″ 2024 guard who emerged as one of the top young prospects in the SEMO area last season. He is a three-level scoring threat who can also handle the ball and create for his teammates with his passing. He also can defend multiple positions.
