Jordan Malmlov Jordan Malmlov 6'0" | CG Prescott | 2023 State WI — PG — Prescott
Malmlov was one of the most exciting prospects to watch this past AAU season. When the point guard laced up his sneakers and competed, you just knew something special could happen. On multiple occasions this past summer, the Prescott prospect was able to put up impressive shooting numbers. When he gets on a roll and sees a couple of shots go through, there isn’t a whole lot that defenders can do. Malmlov has a quick trigger from deep and isn’t afraid to take some heavily contested shots. Expect for Malmlov to torch opposing defenders this year with his shooting ability.
Cole Uhlenbrauck Cole Uhlenbrauck 6'4" | SF Saint Mary Catholic | 2023 State WI — SF — Saint Mary Catholic
I think that Uhlenbrauck could surprise some people this season. Because he doesn’t play for a powerhouse program during the high school season, the small forward has gotten overlooked. But now with a solid season of AAU under his belt, I believe that the Saint Mary Catholic prospect is ready to breakout. I really like the physical tools that Uhlenbrauck possesses. He has good size for a small forward, which he uses to shoot over smaller defenders. Uhlenbrauck has a really smooth stroke from deep and shoots the ball with a lot of confidence.
Matthew Schmainda Matthew Schmainda 6'2" | CG Brookfield East | 2023 State WI — G — Brookfield East
There is no doubt in my mind about it: Schmainda is a prospect that is going to make a major impact at the next level. The Brookfield East combo guard is a grinder. He is the type of prospect who always gives it his all. No matter the situation, you can bet on Schmainda giving 100 percent effort. As a shooter, the guard is elite. Many think of shooting as just a skill. But with Schmainda, it is much more than that. He is able to use his high-IQ to get up open looks. Schmainda moves well off screens and just knows how to get off open looks from range.
Ty Fernholz Ty Fernholz 6'2" | SG Stoughton | 2024 State WI — PG — Stoughton
Coming off a productive AAU season, Fernholz is a prospect rolling into the 2022-23 high school season with a ton of momentum. On the offensive end of the court, Fernholz is really, really good. The Stoughton point guard just knows how to put the ball in the hoop. He has an effective shot from deep and is very good at getting past his defender and finishing at the cup. At the conclusion of this high school season, I expect plenty of college programs to be interested in Fernholz.
John Kinziger John Kinziger 6'0" | CG De Pere | 2023 State #257 Nation WI — PG — De Pere
Not only is Kinziger one of the best overall prospects in Wisconsin, but he is also one of the best pure shooters that the state has to offer. Last season, the Illinois State commit was able to knock down 74 three-point shots on an efficient 46 percent shooting. Because the point guard is such an elite shooter from beyond the arc, defenders are often left in a lose-lose situation. If they close out too hard, Kinziger can blow by them and get a layup. But if they give Kinziger too much space on the perimeter, he is fully capable of draining outside shots.
Tim Franks Tim Franks 6'5" | SG Homestead | 2024 State WI — SG — Homestead
One of the best pure catch-and-shoot shooters in the state, Franks made a name for himself this past AAU season. While playing for Chapman Basketball Academy, the shooting guard was able to really impress. For an SG, Franks has good positional size and strength. He uses his size to shoot over smaller defenders on the outside and uses his strength to finish through bigger defenders in the paint. Already holding a Division One scholarship offer from Bradley, look for Franks to make a statement this winter.
