It was far from the two-time All-State selection’s best performance, but Coleman did just enough to help Portal outlast Forest Park in overtime 58-56. Elijah had just 7 points, but four came between the fourth quarter and overtime. He had a pretty left-handed scoop layup in the extra period before snatching the game-clinching steal. Coleman managed to do other things than score, picking up 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals and 1 block.
Jaique Hart
Jaique Hart
The star quarterback did a lot of good things for Lithia Springs while trying to work his way back into basketball shape, recently getting off the football field. Hart tallied 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists, hitting three three-pointers. Against an aggressive Groves full-court press, Hart’s strength and toughness with the ball played a key role in limiting turnovers.
Ty Chisholm

Plays with pace and likes to sneak his way to the hoop. Used a short pull-up jumper to avoid getting in too deep when driving lanes were clogged. Tallied 8 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist and 1 steal.
Sparkplug guard is fearless. Little lefty came up huge in the third and fourth quarter, helping keep the Atomsmashers within striking distance. Hit a three and then attacked the rim, able to score against length with his floater. Small but has a good future and doesn’t shy away from the moment. Had 9 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist and 1 steal in a 62-61 overtime win against Hiram, all nine points in the second half.
Lincoln Memorial-signee got stronger as the game wore on, attacking the rim throughout. All six of his field goals came in the paint on drives. In the fourth quarter and overtime, Boyd went 7-8 from the line. He finished with 19 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists and 2 steals, creating offense in isolation settings.
DeAndre Jones
DeAndre Jones

The junior did good work as a playmaker getting the ball to teammates in a position to score. DeAndre posted 7 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block.
Ja’ion Burns
Ja’ion Burns
With Jawuan Jinks sidelined within the first 10 seconds of the game, Burns stepped up and hunted his offense as Dougherty struggled to string together baskets. Burns scored from all three levels, hitting a pair of pull-up jumpers to blend in with a drive, three floaters and a three-ball. Ja’ion’s aggressive nature was a pleasant sight in a game that was never in contention. He played hard till the final buzzer and took the loss personally. Burns racked up 16 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals.
