Continue ReadingThis fall we released our latest rankings for the classes of 2023, 2024, and 2025. What if you took those classes and did an overall ranking regardless of class? This is what they would look like! Once again this is a ranking based on college potential not what their impact will necessarily be this year in high school. This is our Illinois Top 50 Prospects Regardless of Class!
Today we unveil prospects #6 – #10!
#6 Cameron Christie Cameron Christie 6'4" | SG Rolling Meadows | 2023 State #76 Nation IL (Rolling Meadows – 2023)
Last Year’s Rank: #11
Minnesota made Christie a priority going all out and they got their man! The Rolling Meadows two guard is one of the more effortless scorers in the class being able to rise up for feathery jumpers from two and three on a regular basis. Moves well without the ball and has improved his all-around floor game over the last year.
#7 Nojus Indrusaitis Nojus Indrusaitis 6'5" | SG Brewster Academy | 2024 State #79 Nation NLG (St. Rita – 2024)
Last Year’s Rank: #8
Indrusaitis is making the move over from Lemont to a stacked St. Rita squad. High octane scorer that has three level scoring pop. The junior wing can take over as we saw several times in the spring with Meanstreets where he was fantastic hitting threes and playing above the rim. Priority Midwest high-major recruit.
#8 Cooper Koch Cooper Koch 6'8" | PF Metamora | 2024 State #81 Nation IL (Peoria Notre Dame – 2024)
Last Year’s Rank: #9
Koch is the top prospect from central Illinois regardless of class. The PND four man is a pick and pop guy that can extend the floor shooting it with ease as well as being an excellent spot up shooter. On the block he has efficient and skilled moves where he can score with quick moves. Very good passer out of the post as well making those around him better finding cutters and shooters. Iowa commit has a bright future!
#9 Asa Thomas Asa Thomas 6'6" | SF Lake Forest | 2023 State #91 Nation IL (Lake Forest – 2023)
Last Year’s Rank: #10
Thomas is a big wing that has size and was one of the more efficient scorers in the UAA. Shot maker that can get his jumper off over most wings because of his size on the perimeter. Has some craftiness to his game and is an underrated scorer off the bounce putting combination moves together. Very good at moving away from the ball and the Clemson commit should be a solid rotational piece in the ACC.
#10 Darrin Ames Darrin Ames 6'1" | PG Kenwood | 2023 State #99 Nation IL (Kenwood – 2023)
Last Year’s Rank: #7
Ames is headed off to Kansas State next season. The electric lefty scoring guard is primed to be one of the states top bucket getters this season and one of the favorites for Mr. Basketball as he should post monster numbers. Excellent ball handler that can get where he wants on the floor breaking down a defense. Bit of a streaky shooter, but when he is on he is almost unstoppable. Scoring guard should be a nice fit in the Big 12.
