Aiden Mckee- Strake Jesuit (2023)
Aiden showed up big time in his team’s critical must win game against Bellaire. Mckee showed why he should be considered a top 3 big in the tournament, finishing all shots even with the defense layered on top of him and always found the poise to convert at the free throw line as well. Aiden also displayed how exceptional he is in the pick and roll as the receiver, always getting to the right spot for his teammate to feed him the ball for an easy bucket. Mckee proved he belongs in the conversation for most underrated bigs in the city of Houston for 2023 and should be receiving more collegiate offers moving forward!!
Peyton Whittington- Barbers Hill (2023)
Peyton was quite an effective superstar in his Barber Hill squad’s tough game against a physical Cypress Creek team. Paired with teammate Bryce Smith in the backcourt, Peyton showed himself to be a knockdown shooter from long range and converted many opportunities where the defense left him open to hit the jumper and get transition points for his team. Peyton was also quick and shifty when it came to blazing past his defender to the basket and showed off his athleticism finishing at the rim. Whittington will look to play a major role in the backcourt for the Eagles this year as they come across some tough district matchups!
Avion Jackson- Atascocita (2024)
Avion showed why he will be one of the key pieces for a deep Atascocita squad this season in their matchup on Saturday against the Mayde Creek Rams. Jackson converted several tough shots over defenders and came in clutch on the defensive end, often stealing the ball from his matchup and going coast to coast for an easy fastbreak layup. Avion was also exceptional at hitting jumpers from midrange as the defense kept leaving him space to convert on open shots. Jackson will continue to be very effective on both ends of the court for the Eagles as the season continues!!
Davion Curry- Eisenhower (2023)
Curry was part of his teams critical production on the offensive end against St. Thomas on Saturday. Davion played the role of big men for his Eisenhower squad and showed his ability going toe to toe with two of perhaps the best big men in Houston in Jake Pike Jake Pike 6'7" | PF Houston St. Thomas | 2023 State TX and Michael Oaks. Curry was able to show off his ability to consistently hit jumpers from range when the defense left him space and finished efficiently under constant contact when in close proximity of the basket. Despite the tough loss, Curry played a key role in the offense and will look to make a huge impact this coming season!
