There will be four teams from out of state that make it to the Beehive State to take on each other and some of the talent here in the state. You might need to take the day off or get out early to come watch these games. Let’s take a look at some of the local teams that will be in attendance and Day 1 Matchups and players to watch.
Bingham, Miners
Bingham has a new look but they have some young talent. Luke West Luke West 6'2" | SG Bingham | 2026 State UT and Jason Peterson Jason Peterson 6'4" | CG Bingham | 2025 State UT are good young players that will likely see the floor. Stockton Tueller and KJ Jenson KJ Jenson 6'0" | SG Bingham | 2023 State UT provide some upperclassmen leadership with guards and Carson Bagley Carson Bagley 6'0" | PG Bingham | 2023 State UT is going to contribute. KJ is a sharp shooter that hopefully gets some solid looks. Also look for Donovan Averitte Donovan Averitte 6'4" | CG Bingham | 2025 CA-S to be a good addition to the squad. One player that could really make a difference is Brayden Whitehead Brayden Whitehead 6'10" | C Bingham | 2023 State UT the 6’10 big man could be a game changer.
Cyprys, Pirates
Cyprus is a super tough team especially with their guard play. Quentin Meza Quentin Meza 6'0" | PG Cyprus | 2023 State UT is a big time D1 prospect that will likely get some more looks shortly. Diego Mulford Diego Mulford 5'10" | PG American Fork | 2024 State UT has an offer from CSI and he could really be a big time long ball difference maker. Word is that Anywan Kuang Anywan Kuang 6'5" | SF Kearns | 2024 State UT has transferred over and if so he will add depth. Not sure where Justus Jackson-Fobbs Justus Jackson-Fobbs 6'6" | SF Cyprus | 2023 State UT is with his shoulder recover but he will be a major addition when the time comes.
Corner Canyon, Chargers
Corner Canyon is not going to sneak up on anyone as Max Toombs Max Toombs 6'3" | CG Corner Canyon | 2023 State UT , Kellen Lewis, Jaxson Roberts Jaxson Roberts 6'2" | PG Corner Canyon | 2023 State UT and Brody Kozlowski Brody Kozlowski 6'8" | SF Corner Canyon | 2024 State #103 Nation UT have enough on both ends of the floor to play with anyone. The will have a bullseye on their back in 6A but that’s okay, they play with some great energy and swagger.
Pleasant Grove, Vikings
PG could make some noise if they things right. The addition of 6’11 Bron Roberts Bron Roberts 6'11" | SF Pleasant Grove | 2023 State UT is a big time game changer. Michael Mitton Michael Mitton 6'3" | CG Pleasant Grove | 2023 State UT is as solid of a guard as they come. Isaac Garrett Isaac Garrett 6'8" | SF Pleasant Grove | 2023 State UT is a big prospect that projects high and will either be a D1 NJCAA kid or a LM D1 4 man. Colby Dean Colby Dean 6'9" | C Pleasant Grove | 2023 State UT provides more size and they usually have some solid role players.
American Fork, Cavemen
AF got game and another thing they have is size. Blake Rawson Blake Rawson 6'8" | PF American Fork | 2024 State UT is set to have a big year as is Ashton Wallace Ashton Wallace 6'4" | CG American Fork | 2023 State UT and Tiger Cuff Tiger Cuff 6'4" | CG American Fork | 2024 State UT . Then you add Aaron Dunne Aaron Dunne 6'9" | C American Fork | 2023 State UT , Kean Webb Kean Webb 6'10" | C American Fork | 2023 State UT and Jaxon Durrant and the rotation is superior. AF will look to defend their title and they have the dudes to do it.
RSL Academy, Griffins
This team has the ability to make so many changes when it comes to starters but JJ Mandaquit JJ Mandaquit 6'2" | PG Utah Prep | 2025 State #45 Nation UT is a bit time PG pick up and David Katoa David Katoa 6'4" | CG Layton | 2024 State #255 Nation UT (Utah) is as good a guard as you can have. Add Lyman Simmons Lyman Simmons 6'10" | PF RSL Academy | 2023 State UT and Stephan Osei and that is a good big rotation. Trey Evans Trey Evans 6'5" | PG RSL Academy | 2023 State UT is good and has size so he doesn’t have to be stuck on the ball. JJ Apathjang JJ Apathjang 6'5" | CG Judge Memorial Catholic | 2025 State UT is another local prospect that can go once he finds rhythm.
