Here is look at the top Class of 2023 standouts at the Jamboree.
Trevor Reed Trevor Reed 6'6" | PF John Burroughs | 2023 State MO (John Burroughs): The 6’5″ forward had some moments of dominance in the second game against McCluer North. He was strong around the basket as he scored on drop steps, turnaround jumpers and a few power dunks at the rim. He also had a very effective turn and face game where he can hit the 17 footer, drive to the basket or hit the open cutter with the nice pass.
Donovan Howard (Hazelwood Central): A powerful 6’4″ forward who has a big, physical body, but he is also pretty skilled. He attacked the basket well with bully-ball drives to the basket and he didn’t mind the contact. He could also step out and hit the 3-pointer off the pick and pop. He was also a solid rebounder and post defender.
Trey Harris (McCluer North): A 6’0″ 2023 point guard who had a very impressive showing on Thursday night with his variety of offensive skills. He was a tough cover for opposing guards as he was constantly able to get into the lane off the dribble. He had a nice pull up jumper in the lane and he could also hit the 3-pointer to keep defenders honest.
Cameron McKenzie (McCluer North): A 6’9″ 2023 forward who provides some good size and length in the low post. He did a nice job on the offensive boards as he showed a nice touch on his putbacks. He also contested shots around the basket on defense and he ran the court very well. He will be a welcome addition for the Stars as he gives them some size.
Dominique Fulton (Hazelwood Central): A 5’10” combo guard who was very active at both ends of the court. He is a solid on-ball defender who was really applying the pressure to opposing ball handlers. He had some nice penetrating drives to the basket and he also hit a 3-pointer in the transition game.
