Gregory Gorillas: Team Preview

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We are back for another team preview. PHD is checking out the Gorillas from Gregory. They are a class B squad from Region 6. <em>Jeff Determan</em> is the head coach for the Gorillas. Look out for this team, Gregory will have a good chance to make a nice run in the playoffs. They are young but have [player_tooltip player_id='1625188' first='Daniel' last='Mitchell'] who is one of the best players in South Dakota and a tough PG with [player_tooltip player_id='1263160' first='Cruz' last='Klundt']. They lost in the Region Semifinals in OT to Burke. The Gorillas were young last year with only 2 healthy seniors. However, they might be even younger this year as they are not expecting any seniors to be on the roster. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Off-Season</span></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Many of the Gorillas spent countless hours in the gym during the offseason/summer. They worked hard and improved their overall games.&nbsp;I am expecting the time they spent in the gym this summer will show this winter!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Top Players</span></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1625188' first='Daniel' last='Mitchell'] (2024) |6'7 F|</strong> - 2nd Team All-State last season with 19.8 ppg and 9.4 rpg. Mitchell plays above the rim and has the ability to score in multiple ways from multiple spots on the floor. He can protect the rim and control the boards as well. If things go as planned, Daniell will be an All-State player for the 3rd straight season. I am sure that he would love to add a State Tournament appearance to his resume! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1263160' first='Cruz' last='Klundt'] (2025) |5'11 PG|</strong> - All-Conference last year with 11.4 ppg and 4.6 apg as a frosh! Klundt has spent the most time in the gym out of anyone from Gregory this past off-season. At the PG spot, Cruz controls the pace of the game and breaks down the defense to get his teammates open looks. Klundt craves delivering a great assist just as much as knocking down a three-pointer.
