Then on Saturday, I went to Pickerington North’s scrimmages where I saw Emmanuel Christian, Africentric again, Olentangy Orange, Canton McKinley, Pickerington North, and Gilmour Academy. This article will talk about the top underclassmen from this very talented packed weekend.
Nate Miles
Nate Miles
My first time seeing Miles play varsity ball and it seemed like he has been doing it for years now. Visually the kid fits in. He has a very good size for an incoming freshman. Big body, is tall and uses them both well to get his shot up. Skill-wise he has it as well. He specializes in the three-ball but his midrange game is nice. Miles used his body well at getting to the rim. Nice touch around the rim. He will be a special player.
Noah Chambers
Noah Chambers
You could kind of feel Chamber is going to be the next really good guard to come out of Shaker. The sophomore is a shorter guard but has some nice size to him. Super good handle on it. Good shiftiness to his game. A really pretty jumper. The kid has a lot of potential and has a great guard to look up to right now in Kellon Smith Kellon Smith 6’1″ | CG Shaker Heights | 2023 State OH .
Braylon Morris
Braylon Morris
Morris is a sophomore that showed good promise in his play on Friday against Northland. Brought great energy and effort off the bench. His jumper was very smooth. He hit multiple big threes in Newark’s come back efforts. Had some good takes where he showed a really good touch.
Kalen Winbush
Kalen Winbush
Winbush is similar to Morris just bigger. Long arms. Very good athlete. He has a really solid skillset. He can do a bit of it all. He is not very good at one particular thing but he does everything well. You don’t play at Newark if you don’t play hard and Winbush plays with tons ion effort and has a tough edge to him.
