A name that has burst onto the scene this year in Charlotte is Sean Birmingham Sean Birmingham 6’8″ | CG Concord Academy | 2024 State #215 Nation NC , a 6’8 thin forward from the Cannon School. He dominated competition this weekend, posting 35 points on Friday against JM Robinson and then following it up with 19 on Saturday against Ardrey Kell. He has been absurdly efficient from the field, only missing a single shot inside the arc on 22 attempts, and these buckets come in a variety of ways. He’s got chops to score at all three levels, whether its off the bounce getting to the rim, pull up jumpers, or catch and shoot threes. Defensively, he uses length to impact the ball and passing lanes, and hits the glass to initiate offense and finish possessions. He is a late bloomer that is looking like he will be a star collegiately.

Terrell burst out onto the scene in a big way this weekend, dropping 24 points in a win over a solid Charlotte Christian team. He showed his scoring chops from behind the arc, going 7-9 from three. He looked to be a very good deep ball shooter and could get those shots in multiple ways; off the catch, off screens, and on pull-ups. If he can continue to develop his other areas of the game, he will be an impressive combo guard in the state in a few years. The sky is the limit when you can shoot the ball like he can.
Hull showed that he was the leader of a strong Charlotte Latin team, both emotionally and physically. His 27 point, 11 rebound performance was one that willed the Hawks to a win over a solid Mallard Creek program, and he helped in a variety of ways. He knocked down 5 threes, continuing to show his versatility scoring. He is so good when he does not have to do too much, which at times he had to do with lots of pull-up jumpers trying to get his team points. He also helped his undersized teammates win the rebounding war by pulling down 10 defensive boards, helping end possessions and initiate the primary break. Not on the stat sheet was his leadership and hustle he poured out onto the court, looking like a born winner even when he went through a cold spell. Hull will be a leader and a winner at whatever school he ends up at.
Kenyon Addie is one of the purest sharpshooters in his class, and he put that on display this weekend with his 9 three, 27 point outburst. Every shot he took was from behind the line, and he was still over 50% on the day. He’s got the ability to knock it down from deep ranges, and get his threes in a variety of ways. He’s primarily a spot up guy getting his shots off the catch, but he can create his own shot a little bit as well. He is one to watch as a leading shooter and perimeter scorer in the state.

Patton has been a supporting cast kind of player for his first two years at Chambers, but with people needing to step up, he has been one to do so. He put up a monster 31 point, 12 rebound day in the marquee matchup Friday night against Northside, and looked fluid and ready to play at a high level. He has a knack at scoring the ball down low, as he went 15-19 on the night. He can play above the rim, slash, and even bang bodies with some bigger guys down there too. He’s also a fly headed to the glass, and one who can really impact the game with his second effort and grit. He had 7 of his 12 rebounds on the offensive glass, and changed the momentum of the game with some deflating second chance buckets. He’s got a role in that Chambers offense, and one that can be a vital part to them going deep into the season. Look out for him to post some more big nights.
