Kaden Cook Kaden Cook 6'4" | PF Park Center | 2023 State MN of Park Center (2023). Cook was once again a mismatch because teams have to commit better defenders to O’Hara and Ring, and then the leftovers get picked apart by Kaden. 1) strength, he sets a strong screen and moves where he wants to post guys, 2) he plays harder and tougher so he gets consistent numbers, and 3) he is really good with his back to the basket finishing and he’s usually being defended by a forward that cant handle him. BSM and Hopkins couldn’t handle him.
Jake Little Jake Little 6'1" | SG Cretin-Derham Hall | 2023 MN of Cretin-Derham Hall (2023). Maybe the surprise of the day for me was Jake Little Jake Little 6'1" | SG Cretin-Derham Hall | 2023 MN , a 6-foot-1 Raiders guard. With three new transfers getting time in the CDH backcourt, it was Little that really caught the eye. He scored 16 points against a really good Lakeville North team and did it on 7 of 10 shooting. It wasn’t just the shot making, it was the confidence ad the range on his jumper that helped him build that total.
Gavin Luick of Bloomington Jefferson (2023). Saw some of Gavin this weekend and then used the Fresh Coast Hoops highlights for the rest. He’s 6’3 with a really nice lefty touch. Love the goose neck touch on his attempts and he has a really nice dribble separation game too. Hit shots with feet set, off of separation, and on the move. With Luick and Anthony Thorman Anthony Thorman 6'7" | C Bloomington Jefferson | 2023 State MN giving Daniel Freitag Daniel Freitag 6'1" | PG Breck | 2024 State #142 Nation MN options, the Jags have a chance to be very good again!
Aidan Macke of Cretin-Derham Hall (2024). The other Raider who played well on Sunday was junior Aidan Macke. Aidan was the other player extending the Panthers defense as he hit four threes by our count and scored in double figures. Fresh off a great season as a kicker for the football team, Macke stepped right into the role of wing scorer this weekend and the team relied on him throughout the game.
Erik Ryan Erik Ryan 6'8" | PF Lakeville North | 2023 State MN of Lakeville North (2023). Ryan was a solid, active big for WOTN this past 17u season and with Nolan Winter Nolan Winter 7'0" | PF Lakeville North | 2023 State #98 Nation MN out and Jt Thornton Jt Thornton 6'4" | SF Burnsville | 2023 State MN recently transferring to Burnsville, the Panthers needed some contributions from Ryan this weekend and he gave them to him. Ryan was an excellent screener, he allowed limited CDH attempts around the basket, scored three times and grabbed seven boards! He should be a solid reserve for the Panthers this year.
