The next game on the slate was Wasatch Academy vs. Bishop Walsh and although it was close through the entire game. Wasatch Academy found a way to separate themselves and they ended up winning by a decent margin.
AZ Compass was balling last night as they took out Montverde who has a crazy good roster. AZ was focused and got excellent play from the hometown kid Jordan Ross Jordan Ross 6'3" | PG Pleasant Grove | 2023 UT .
This set up the stage for a highly touted and nationally ranked Sunrise Christian Academy out of Kansas to face off against one of the best teams in the state in American Fork. It appeared that Sunrise was in full control of the game as they had the better athletes the quicker guards and the height advantage. The one thing that did help AF was that they do have some height to matchup and it led to Aaron Dunne Aaron Dunne 6'9" | C American Fork | 2023 State UT having himself a game that opened up things for everyone on the floor. Ashton Wallace Ashton Wallace 6'4" | CG American Fork | 2023 State UT had himself a big time game and it had some of the out of state scouts asking about his recruitment. The final game was between two top 5 teams in the state and this game was not overhyped at all. it lived up to the hype by all means. There were two players that surprised us all as it was exciting seeing 6’11 Bron Roberts Bron Roberts 6'11" | SF Pleasant Grove | 2023 State UT on the floor again and Justus Jackson-Fobbs Justus Jackson-Fobbs 6'6" | SF Cyprus | 2023 State UT was back on the floor earlier than anticipated. This game turned out to be a battle. Although PG had some advantages in the height department Cyprus found was to keep those guys out in the perimeter most of the game. Isaac Garrett Isaac Garrett 6'8" | SF Pleasant Grove | 2023 State UT was great as was Michael Mitton Michael Mitton 6'3" | CG Pleasant Grove | 2023 State UT and Bron Roberts Bron Roberts 6'11" | SF Pleasant Grove | 2023 State UT looked like a D1 prospect once again. At the end of the game the three-ball was the difference as Quentin Meza Quentin Meza 6'0" | PG Cyprus | 2023 State UT , Diego Mulford Diego Mulford 5'10" | PG American Fork | 2024 State UT and company just hit those shots when it mattered and they pulled out the win.
