Continue ReadingJJ is a shifty guard with a bright future in the Woodford County backcourt. One of the better players at our Top 250 Expo this fall, Jenkins will likely have to carve out a role on varsity this season but he should be in line for more and more playing time as the season rolls along and Woodford develops their depth.
Highlights
Greenwood is in total rebuild mode after graduating a bunch of Seniors and almost all of their scoring from last year and Simpson will be a nice piece for them moving forward. Nick has a high IQ and is a good shooter. He’s going to need to keep getting stronger to reach his ceiling but you can tell he’s the son of a coach in how he approaches the game and sees the floor.
Our Brady Kennedy loved what he saw from Silverton when he visited Newport for open gym this fall. Noah is a big time shooter who is also aggressive attacking the rim. Newport is very young this season but their backcourt is a big strength for them and should be one of the best in NKY for the next few years.
Highlights
Birney is one of the best Class A players in the western part of Kentucky. He has to do a lot for the Bombers to compete on a nightly basis but he is capable. Jace will eventually be more of a wing than the post he plays at the high school level. At our Top 250 expo, Birney showed a great motor and that he can score both inside and out.
Highlights
Mackey is definitely a player to keep an eye on for a potential breakout this season. North Hardin is young and has a lot of depth at the guard spots but not a lot in the frontcourt. Zek is more of a wing at the next level but he should be a go to scorer on the block and facing up this year for the Trojans.
