They were the tournament champions, and have a lot of notable prospects. The Simms teams plays a fast up tempo offense. They like to run the floor, and moved the ball well against the zone. On defense they played with high pressure and utilized an effective full court trap. Here is an analysis of the team.
Charlie is a long versatile Forward. I was impressed with what I saw on Saturday. He shot the ball well, and did a number of things to impact the game. He has a good skill set to match his size. He can finish at or above the rim with both hands. He cuts hard away from the ball and he had a nice baseline cut for a bucket. He can score from the outside and inside, and can score in the post or in transition. On defense he can guard multiple positions and rebounds the ball well. He made good outlet passes off rebounds to start the offense. He has good hands, and that helped him get good positioning down low.
Kelvin Danforth
Kelvin Danforth
The 6-7 big man went to work this weekend. He is a strong built, who controls his body well and plays with poise. He is aggressive and finishes well in the post. He ran the baseline in his teams zone offense and also played the middle. He made some nice passes out to the wing to set his teammates up. He boxes out hard, and is very effective on the glass. He has a fundamental skill set down low, and can body people. He moves well for his size. I liked what I saw from Kelvin and he has a strong upside to his game.
Diego Mello
Diego Mello
Diego is an aggressive guard, that can score in multiple ways. What stood out during the game Saturday was his shooting. He finished the game with 6 three pointers. He has a smooth fluid shot from the outside. He was balanced shooting, and got his shot off quickly. He was able to shoot against the opposing teams zone. He is a skilled guard, who is effective and efficient.
Jakari Clark
Jakari Clark
Clark had some strong takes to the rim. He finished well through contact, and had multiple and 1 finishes. He has an explosive and quick first step off the dribble. In his teams zone offense, he moved the ball well, and found the open holes in the zone. On defense he was very effective in the teams full court press, and forced a number of steals leading to offense.
Aaron Cote
Aaron Cote
Aaron is one of the few 2026 players on the team. He is a true playmaking three level scorer. He has a high basketball IQ, and can score in transition or the half court. He is a confident player, that’s has been playing at a level above his grade. He was also effective in the teams press, and pressuring ball handlers. He can play up tempo, or at a more slower pace and still be just as effective.
