Prep Hoops Season Predictions:
Christ Church – Can the Cavaliers make a run in Class 1A this season after dropping down? Will Woods Windham be able to help after football?
High Point Academy – Will Grizzlies have an enough firepower to stay with the Cavaliers? New Head Coach in Jacob Smith leading the way.
St Joesph’s – The Knights will surprise somebody for sure on any given night. Well-coached and disciplined team
Southside Christian – Will the Sabres have more than Nathan Mokan Nathan Mokan 6'1" | CG Southside Christian | 2023 State SC this season?
Brashier Middle College – Can Brasier Middle College battle out of the bottom?
Jordan recently made a pledge for the University of Missouri for next season. Butler is the Prep Hoops Preseason Region Player of the Year and the 2023 Top Senior in the Palmetto State. rnJordan averaged 14.5 ppg, 8 .1 rebounds and 3.8 blocks last season for the Cavaliers. Butler can really play inside-out on the floor with his skill level. He decided on Missouri after having a Top 3 of South Carolina, Auburn and the Tigers.
Butler has good mobility to move around the floor quite easily along with ability to show his passing skills.
Ali is back for the Grizzlies this season after averaging 18.1 ppg last season. Khan shows to have a quick trigger from behind the three-point line and a great deal of confidence. Ali will be counted on heavily this season for the Spartanburg based Grizzlies to stay on top of the region.
Highlights
Satterfield is a left-handed point guard who really brings toughness to the floor for Knights Head Coach Paul Assinesi. Davis isn’t afraid to jump on the floor for a loose ball, take a charge on command or HUSTLE all game long. He brings a great attitude and a willingness to the floor at all times.
Josh Burns
Josh Burns
Burns is a shooting guard for the Knights. He and Satterfield make up a solid backcourt for the Knights in the Class 1A ranks. Josh has a nice smooth stroke especially when he gets his feet set and squared up to shoot.
Mokan is back to lead the Sabres this season after averaging 15.4 ppg last year. Nathan plays off the ball best as a combo guard. Watch out when he gets going, he can make it a long day for defenders out on the perimeter.
Highlights
Harvey is the floor general for the Cavaliers. DJ can connect on open looks while on the perimeter when he’s not dropping dimes to his teammates on the way to the rack. He really plays the game at a good pace and understanding while on the floor. DJ is still a bit old-school at times using the forgotten bounce pass and carving out defenders on the way to the cup.
Can the Cavaliers be the team to beat in the Upstate after moving down to Class 1A this season?
Highlights
Ross was a nice surprise a few weeks back at the SCBCA Elite Camp down in North Charleston. DeAnthony is a rangy forward with a decent skill set. Ross likes to play out on the perimeter and show some guard skills at time. He has nice length and a long wingspan to be disruptive at times down low. He will be a nice piece to the puzzle for Grizzlies Head Coach Jacob Smith this season.
