Continue ReadingMarquart will establish himself as one of the state’s elite shooters as early as this year. He’s armed with a lightning-quick release, tons of range, and a pure stroke. He moves really well without the ball in his hands, utilizing off-ball screens to find spots to get his shot off, and when he gets it rolling, he’ll barely move the net on his shot. He did a nice job taking advantage of hard closeouts as well, putting the ball on the floor and getting into either the mid-range or all the way to the rim for finishes.
Highlights
Driscoll burst onto the scene as a freshman for the Bulldogs, dropping 33 points in his first varsity game. But he showed throughout the afternoon that there is much more to his game than just his scoring prowess. He played really well on the defensive end, moving his feet and using his quick hands to pick opposing ball-handlers clean on multiple occasions. He handles the ball really well and sees the floor extremely well. He’s a talented playmaker who can create looks for others, and of course, he’s a really strong three-level scorer on his own.
Highlights
An athletic, shifty point guard who can break down the defense and get to the bucket seemingly at will, Moore had a strong all-around showing at the Top 250. He’s strong, showing that he can finish through contact and was one of the fastest players in the gym with the ball in his hands. He handles the ball well and does a great job passing into his teammate’s shooting pockets, allowing them to get their shots off quickly.
Wade is an intriguing, late-rising prospect who is probably due for a jump up the rankings after this viewing. He’s long and extremely active on the glass on both ends of the floor. He showed good timing and instincts on the defensive end, blocking a few shots in the game I saw and showing a good understanding of defensive rotations. He can do a little bit of everything and with his size, length, and athleticism, he’s a name worth keeping an eye on.
Highlights
Reid is a kid that I was impressed with throughout the summer with the Mavericks, and he continues to improve. He has good size and length which helps him defend multiple positions on the defensive end of the floor. He showed that he can pull down a defensive board and lead the break, flashing impressive court vision and passing skills, including a nice pass in transition that threaded the needle between a pair of defenders, hitting his teammate in stride for a layup.
A big wing who can score from all three levels, Jones really impressed with his ability to put the ball on the floor, using his physical frame to finish through contact. He has tightened up his handle over the last year or so which will help him expand his all-around offensive game. He has good touch around the bucket with either hand and he’s a good perimeter shooting threat. He sees the floor well and is a willing passer. He should have a huge senior year for the Trojans.
