Jamson Coutler Jr. (Rich Township) Freshman
An aggressive scoring guard who has the size and strength to get buckets over anyone. Coutler has a knack for getting points in bunches. He was at his best when driving from the either wing getting in the lane. Jamson is player who can be primed to become a 1000 point scorer in high school.
Ahmad Lee Ahmad Lee 6'2" | SG Lincoln Park | 2026 State IL (Lincoln Park) Freshman
Lee is another guard who instantly caught my attention because of his defense. Ahmad has quick hands and feet which helped him get several on steals in one on one situations. Majority of his defensive effort led to transition buckets for his team. He is a guard to track this upcoming season.
BJ Powell (Lincoln Way East) Freshman
Skilled and quick guard BJ overcame a slow start to showcase his talents. Powell is shifty with the ball as he finds pockets to get in the lane and make some astounding layups. He finished as one of the Top 60 players due to his ability to score and compete on defense.
Akir Finley (Marist) Freshman
Finley is a smaller but smooth shooting threat. I like the pace of the game he plays. He has a range but is comfortable to mix in floaters and elbow jump shots. Akir is a guard who can get double digit scoring games quietly and have you wondering how he did it.
Kendall Richmond (Perspectives Leadership) Freshman
Richmond is a thick scoring wing player who has solid explosiveness in his game. Kendall likes to get downhill and finish through contact. He’s strong for a freshman and that helps him take a bump when attacking taller bigs.
Zerrick Johnson (St. Laurence) Sophomore
Been a fan of Zerrick since the summer. College body guard that can pass and score when needed. At Pangos he played some bully ball by shaking defenders off straight lined drives to the rim. Johnson also looked good on defense staying in front of quicker guards and getting some steals in one on one situations because he has good anticipation and timing.
Augustus (Gus) Donahue (De Paul Prep) Sophomore
Gus is a marksman from deep. He has great shot mechanics that make you believe every shot he takes may go in. What was good to see is his movements away from the ball. He didn’t just stand around and wait for the ball to come to him. He moved as his defenders took their eyes off him. Donahue is also a smart defender because he stays in front of guys without reaching and forcing turnovers.
Drew Bartolai Drew Bartolai 6'3" | SF Lane Tech | 2025 IL (Lane Tech) Sophomore
Bartolai is an athletic slashing guard that scores well on hard straight lined attacks off the dribble. Drew can finish with either hand when around the paint. He didn’t look to shoot much when I watched him but the times he did the it looked pretty good. He can become a breakout player for Lane this season.
Damajay Richardson Damajay Richardson 5'11" | PG Whitney Young | 2025 State IL (Whitney Young) Sophomore
Richardson is point guard with a strong upper body build. He has good range on his shot and is a really good passer when getting downhill. Damajay has the tools to play on and off the ball and still be effective. With his size and strength, he does a good job at picking up opposing players 94 feet to force them into bad situations.
Yaris Irby Yaris Irby 5'10" | PG Niles North | 2025 State IL (Niles North) Sophomore
Irby is strong get guard that has irritates players on defense and offense. He is another thicker built guard that can shoot from all three levels in the half court but is also a very underrated passer. Irby controls the pace of the game and keeps his eyes up to make the best play possible. Looking forward to a breakout season from Yaris with his move to Niles North.
