Class A STUDS
-First Team All-State and All-EDC last season. He picked up an offer from NDSU last winter. Klabo’s stats as a 9th grader: 24.1 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 4.2 apg, 3.3 spg. A dominant player that stuffs the stat sheet, he makes everyone better, is a gym rat, and plays hard on both ends. Sacrifices his body to take charges. Davies will be a top 5 team in the State and will have a good chance to make a run at the State Tournament.
Highlights
-He and the Magicians won the State Championship last season. Expect Schaeffer to see an increased role this winter. Grayson is a tough player that will get it done on both ends of the floor. He has great length and impressive athleticism. Schaeffer had standout spring & summer in AAU hoops. Expect Schaeffer to have a breakout sophomore season. He and Minot will be ready for another outstanding season.
-He is another player from ND Phenom that had an outstanding AAU season. Falcon proved that he can shoot the ball at an elite level. At 6’5″, he has no trouble getting his jumper off against smaller defenders. I expect Parker to start for Legacy this and to be a consistent scorer. The Sabers will have a nice squad and they will have a good chance to make a run into the State Tournament. Falcon is a “must-watch” underclassman.
-He played up an age group in AAU ball and Matthew played very well with ECI. Sem is a special player in transition, a bouncy dunker, a skilled passer, and a serious 3-shooting threat. The Spartans will be one of the most scary teams in Class A this season and the young Sem will be a big reason for that. When Matthew and Jeremiah Sem Jeremiah Sem 6’3″ | SG Fargo North | 2024 State #303 Nation ND are on the court together, look out! These two are dynamic together. They share the ball with each other and create for one another. North and Matthew will be playing exciting basketball this winter, make sure the Spartans on on your watchlist.
-He was a DUDE all AAU season with ND Phenom. Drew was the PG and leader for his squad and they won a ton of games. Kempel is very strong and physical at the 1-spot, he constantly gets deep penetration that leads to excellent looks for his teammates. On paper, the Patriots look like the top team in Class A. Kempel will likely get 6th/7th man minutes this year and the young guard will be a key piece of the puzzle for Century. Look for Drew to be a thorn in every team’s side this winter, I expect his stock to rise this season. Be on the lookout for Mr. Kempel.
-Here we have another player that excelled during the AAU season. Parks is having a very nice football season, so we should expect him to come into hoops ready to dominate. Parks is a very good defender with toughness, strength, and versatility. Pearce is a 3-level scorer but he really impacts the game with his physical finishes and posting up vs. smaller defenders. I will not be surprised a bit if Parks is an All-EDC player. Red River has the talent to be a top 5 team in ND, can they put it all together and get to State?
Highlights
-He was a standout on the Prep Hoops Circuit and Loria turned many heads at every event he played in. Loria is a gifted multi-sport athlete, he just helped West Fargo win a State Championship in football. On the hardwood, Loria is an imposing athlete with all the measurables to be a college player. He will be new to varsity but that should not hold him back from being an All-EDC player and the top dog for West Fargo this year.
-He looked very good this summer when playing up two age divisions in AAU ball. This leads me to believe that Austin will be a playmaker for the Demons. He is a fast and explosive athlete. Andre is athletic off the bounce and a creative finisher at the cup. BHS plays in-your-face defense, they scramble all over the court, and they get a ton of possessions every game. This style of play fits perfectly with Austin’s game. Look for Andre to have an excellent season with the Demons.
-He has stretched out in the last year and Nhial is an intriguing athlete. Zach has the ability to be an above-the-rim player. He can change the game from beyond the 3-point arc. Nhial moves well and he makes plays in transition. The Mustangs will have a “new look” team and a fresh new head coach. Nhial has the potential to be a playmaking wing for the Mustangs. It will be interesting to see how much burn he gets early in the season. He certainly has the ability to be a splashy player.
-He is a coach’s kid and he certainly plays like it. Winczewski is smart, clever, and wise beyond his years. Aric is as tough as they come and he is a selfless player. He will do the little things to help the team win but he can also pad the stat sheet in all the categories. Look for Aric to be a key role player and X-factor for Minot this season. This combo guard is a winner and Minot will get many W’s this season. The question is, will end the year with a W, just like they did last year?
Highlights
-A physically strong guard with admirable skills. Ihry is a leader and a mature player. I like his pull-up game and finishing around the basket. Sully had a nice showing in AAU hoops and he proved that he is ready to be a varsity player. Sully is a hard worker and a competitor. You should expect him to rise to the occasion. Sheyenne lost a large amount of senior talent, Ihry will have the chance to step up and take the reigns of the Mustang offense.
