Trent Volz – 6’0 2024 SG – Indian Creek: Volz is an unknown guard out of Indian Creek but I would argue that he has been one of the best defenders the entire fall league. He is a guy from the team that I coach and I have trusted him every game to guard the other team’s best player. His motor is always at 100% and he is a legit energy guy. Scores mostly off steals and drives at the rim.
Washington was a guy that brought a ton of energy for his team in the game I watched of theirs. Real strong and athletic and gets to the rim very easily.
Highlights
LaRavia has been one of the biggest “stock risers” in the 2024 class for awhile it seems like. When I watched him on Sunday thought he did a great job finishing around the rim and using his body to create space. His fundamentals and footwork are very elite even though he may not be the quickest player on the floor. Should be a key piece for Westfield this year.
Highlights
Duncan is a long and lanky center that has some smoothness to his game. Rebounded extremely well and showed off a nice touch around the basket. Runs the floor very well for his size.
Highlights
Murphy is a lanky forward that has a strong left handed drive. Was real active on defense here and is a guy that can switch off from the perimeter and post at a solid rate.
Moore is a smaller yet very smart lead guard. Real quick and shifty and creates very well for himself and his teammates. Shoots the ball well off the catch.
Teschendorf is a lead guard that is real active on both ends. Really excels on the fancy, highlight passes which shows how well he sees the floor. Looks to be a player that will always look to find his teammates first before he attempts his own shot.
Chancie Volz – 5’9 2025 SG – South Ripley: Volz is a smaller shooting guard that can get hot at any moment. May not be the strongest player on the floor but is always hustling and competing on the defensive end. Can be real effective with the corner three.
Highlights
Murans is a lanky forward that plays with a great motor and runs the floor well. For his long size, his ball handles are pretty good and has the ability to take a defender 1v1. Solid shot blocker and was just a flat-out bucket getter in the game I watched of his. Just a fluid player that can score at all three levels.
Fitzgerald is a longer wing that can shoot it very well from the perimeter. He size on the wing is great advantage to him because it allows him to get a shot off with a defender on him. Thought he displayed good, fundamental defense as well.
This was Carson’s first game in the MIB Fall League and he was yet again a bull in a China shop when he would get to the lane. He is such a pure scorer that can create so well on and off the ball. Real physical guard as well and the strength he has to finish through contact is a high point of his game. One of the best remaining 2023’s out there.
