Here’s a look at some of the top VA seniors that were in attendance.
Quint Booker Quint Booker 6'3" | SG Bishop Ireton | 2023 State VA | 6’2” CG | Bishop Ireton
Booker continues to improve his stock and show that he’s one of the best available guards in the WCAC, and he should be in the conversation for an All WCAC selection if he plays the way he has during the summer and fall this season. He’s a buckets in bunches type of player as he can really shoot it from deep with a quick release and stays shot ready, he’s strong and can get downhill where he can finish through contact and when he gets hot he is very tough to stop.
Greg Jones Greg Jones 6'5" | SF Hayfield | 2023 State #258 Nation VA | 6’5” WF | Hayfield
Jones was a big part of a Hayfield team that went undefeated on their way to a state championship last year and he has them set as the favorites to repeat, especially the way he has improved his game and as a leader has everyone completely bought in to one goal. The 6’5” wing is a super athlete with long arms and uses it on the glass and on the defensive end, he is unselfish and has great feel as a playmaker and a passer and he has really improved in his ability to make shots from the perimeter.
David King David King 6'3" | PF Hayfield | 2023 State VA | 6’3” F | Hayfield
King is the x-factor and the glue piece for this Hayfield team, as he has consistently been one of their most productive players over the past few years. The 6’3” hybrid forward just has a knack for playing and scoring the ball, he is always around the rim and has his hands on all the offensive rebounds and loose balls he’s around and he has terrific footwork and touch around the rim with both hands allowing him to finish in traffic consistently.
Donovan Bass Donovan Bass 6'1" | PG Hayfield | 2023 State VA | 6’0” PG | Hayfield
Bass will take over the point guard duties as one of a number of transfers to Hayfield this year and the way he played this past weekend is perfect for what they will need from him. He’s a long and strong guard who sets the tone on both ends of the floor and controls the tempo well, he can score the ball off the bounce in different ways and he’s very unselfish and gets his scorers easy shot opportunities.
Cole Cosby Cole Cosby 6'4" | SF St. Stephen's And St. Agnes | 2023 State VA | 6’3” WG | St. Stephen’s St. Agnes
SSSAS was expecting to go through a rebuilding process this year, but they have a solid group of both experienced and young players who showed this weekend they can play together and play against the best of the best. Cosby was particularly impressive as the 6’3” wing shot the ball exceptionally well from deep, showed he can get to spots off the bounce and score it and he brought good energy on both ends of the floor.
Bryson Wilson Bryson Wilson 6'5" | SF St Stephen’s And St Agnes | 2023 State VA | 6’5” WF | St. Stephen’s St. Agnes
Wilson is another very impressive player for the Saints who has steadily produced and gotten better over the summer and the fall, and he’s a late bloomer coaches should be on moving forward. The 6’5” wing has great size and is a super explosive athlete who can get downhill and play above the rim, he brings good energy with his high flying style and he jumps passing lanes defensively to make plays too.
Kendrick Warren | 6’5” WF | TPLS
Warren is another late bloomer that coaches should be on for the TPLS post grad squad, as he has a lot of impressive tools and upside moving forward. The 6’5” wing is super explosive and can simply go to another level many can’t, he moves well off the ball with cuts and relocation to get open and has great hands to catch tough passes and he still has a lot of room to get better moving forward.
