Gavin Thomas Gavin Thomas 6'1" | SG Aplington-Parkersburg | 2024 State IA | Aplington-Parkersburg | 2024 – Ranked 13th in the class of 2024, Thomas is a skilled combo guard that was the third leading scorer on the Falcons last season. He sees the floor very well and has a good basketball IQ. With active hands and good length on the defensive end, he led the Falcons in steals. Thomas can score from all over, shooting 39.4% from, and almost 50% from the line. After graduating three starters, Thomas and Garrett Hempen Garrett Hempen 5'10" | PG Aplington-Parkersburg | 2023 State IA will slide into bigger roles this upcoming season.
Max Knudsen Max Knudsen 5'10" | SG Osage | 2024 State IA | Osage | 2023 – Projected to be on the Top of Iowa East All-Conference First Team, Knudsen is lined up to lead Osage this season. Playing the guard position at 5’10”, Knudsen uses his size to get to the hoop effectively. He shot just under 48% from the floor last season and added just under 3 assists a game. Causing a couple of steals a game, he is just as good on the defensive end.
Landon Craven Landon Craven 6'1" | SG Des Moines Christian | 2024 State IA | Des Moines Christian | 2024 – A lot of Craven’s highlights are on the defensive end. He led the Lions in steals last season and then had a great summer in AAU. He plays great defense, is very handsy without fouling, and has the ability to go coast-to-coast off a steal. On offense, he is very good at getting to the hoop and finishing through contact. He also does a good job keeping his eyes up while driving to find open teammates. The Lions graduate three starters, so expect Craven’s numbers to improve again this season.
Eli Ricketts Eli Ricketts 6'1" | SG Denver | 2024 State IA | Denver | 2024 – On a very good Denver team last season, Ricketts started 12 games and appeared in all 24. He put up solid numbers, averaging 8 points a game, and just over 2 rebounds. Currently ranked 39th in his class, he shoots the ball very efficiently. Graduating three starters, Ricketts has the chance to really emerge this upcoming season.
Wyatt Powell Wyatt Powell 6'1" | PG MFL MarMac | 2024 State IA | MFL MarMac | 2024 – Powell started every game last season and was the Bulldogs second-leading scorer. He is very good on both sides of the ball. He is a solid scorer at both levels but is really good at finishing at the hoop. Powell is really good at getting steals on the other end, and getting fast breaks going. Look for Powell to be a leader on a pretty young MFL squad.
