The class has seen a lot of talent defect from it over the last 9 months or so but it’s still one of the best Kentucky has seen in a while. Here’s a look at the top ten in our updated Senior rankings.
Sheppard maintains his spot atop the rankings and has never been lower than second in these rankings since we started them. A top 25 recruit nationally, Reed is committed to Kentucky and is the heavy favorite for Mr Basketball and will play in a ton of showcase games across the state this season.
Reece is among the best best long term prospects in the class thanks to his size at 7 foot tall and his skill set. Potter has the ability to knock down threes at a high percentage and is capable of scoring around the bucket while either faced up or with his back to the basket. Catholic should expect to go as far as Reece will take them this season.
The best small school player in Kentucky, Moore does it all for Owen County but is actually an efficient scorer and playmaker who can get buckets with the best of them. Teagan has already committed to Western Kentucky and is on track to finish his career with over 3,000 points and 1,500 rebounds.
Highlights
Meyer briefly left the state for a two month stint at the Skills Factory in Atlanta but returned in time for the start of practice earlier this month. Jacob is a volume scorer who, according to MaxPreps, led the nation in scoring last season and is an explosive athlete. Jacob is the best available Senior in the state and recently added some D1 offers.
Highlights
One of the better point guards in the 9th region in recent memory, Ipsaro is committed to Miami Ohio and has his sights set on getting Cov Cath back to Rupp Arena in his Senior season. Evan is a better athlete than he gets credit for and uses his strength to finish through contact at the rim.
The reigning state tournament MVP, Jerone is a high level scorer and a big time competitor who will do whatever his team needs to get a win. Morton is committed to Morehead State and should be an absolute steal at that level.
Long and athletic with a ton of potential, John’s stock took off this summer after the NCAA live event at Collins and he added nearly double figure offers before committing to Murray State this summer. John continues to get more comfortable away from the basket and could eventually be a big wing in college.
Cyr is another long and athletic player whose best basketball is all ahead of him. Malonga has come a long way in the last 3 years and continues to impress with his improvement every time I’ve seen him. Headed to East Carolina for college, Cyr should be the best big in Louisville this season.
From unranked to top 10 in the last year, Dynes also went from off the radar to a D1 commit over the summer. Gabriel is the biggest post I can remember in Kentucky at 7’3 and is an elite rim protector who continues improving on the offensive end. Gabe has been through a huge growth spurt and multiple injuries in the last two years but should see his stock continue trending up.
