1. Cameron Ward Cameron Ward 6'6" | SF Largo | 2025 State #30 Nation MD | 6’6 | Largo/ Team Durant
Ward keeps his slot as the No. 1 prospect after earning MVP honors at the DMV Elite 80. It isn’t often that a sophomore leads this event in scoring, but Ward did just that while also being a menacing presence on the glass. It speaks to how skilled he is, but Ward is obviously just scratching the surface of his potential. He logged impressive numbers at Largo as a freshman and will likely do so once again as a sophomore, but now has the understanding of what it takes to win at a more consistent level.
2. Nykolas Lewis Nykolas Lewis 6'2" | PG Gonzaga | 2025 State #146 Nation MD | 6’2 | Gonzaga/ Team Takeover
This conversation at the top will always be 1A and 1B as Lewis is one of the most skilled sophomore guards I’ve seen since beginning my career as a scout. He has elite feel for the game, complete control of the ball and continues to form into a highly-feared three-level scorer. Lewis was one of the 62 athletes invited to join the USA Men’s National Team minicamp in Colorado Springs. If that doesn’t hint to you what sort of player he is, I’m not sure what will. Take into mind that he also played up on 16U for Team Takeover and was an integral piece in them winning the Peach Jam title. Both Lewis and Ward are already warranted high major offers.
3. Jalen Rougier-Roane Jalen Rougier-Roane 6'5" | CG Sidwell Friends | 2025 State #142 Nation MD | 6’5 | Sidwell Friends/ Team Durant
I think Rougier-Roane has the biggest upside of anyone in this class given his size, skill and fluidity. He’s a scoring threat from three-levels and does a nice job of moving without the ball effectively. Because of his size and athleticism, he’s also a valuable piece on the defense end due to his switchability. Friends has a chance to be a top team in the loaded DMV area because of their youthful talent. Rougier-Roane will play a major part in the success.
4. Tyler Jackson Tyler Jackson 6'2" | CG St. Frances | 2025 #40 Nation MD | 6’2 | St. Frances/ Team Thrill
Jackson took the scene by storm this spring and summer for Team Thrill and proved himself on a national scale to some of the industry. He’s a dynamic, shifty and tough-nosed guard who keeps constant pressure on the defense due to his ability to score it at a high volume.
5. Jeff Exinor Jeff Exinor 6'4" | SF McDonogh | 2025 State #272 Nation MD | 6’4 | McDonogh/ Team Thrill
Along with Jackson, Exinor was a steady contributor for the Team Thrill 15U squad. He plays much bigger than his 6’5 and has a natural physical presence inside that’s triggered from his success on the gridiron. He has improved as a shooter from three, but is most effective around the rim where he absorbs and finished through contact.
6. Malik Washington Malik Washington 6'5" | SF Archbishop Spalding | 2025 MD | 6’5 | Archbishop Spalding/ Team Melo
Washington is one of the best leaders I’ve evaluated even as a sophomore. He’s a power five prospect as a quarterback and takes just as much command on the hardwood. He’s a 6’5 Swiss Army knife that contributes to multiple statistical categories and plays a winning style of basketball.
7. Frankie Mannino Frankie Mannino 6'4" | SF Landon | 2025 State MD | 6’4 | Landon/ DC Premier
Mannino has the opportunity to make a splash at Landon next to 2023 Tyler Perkins Tyler Perkins 6'4" | SG Landon | 2023 State #268 Nation MD . At 6’4, he poses good size as sophomore and is effectively as an off-ball guard or wing. He’s a dependable shooter off the catch who knows how to use his body when he puts the ball on the deck to get to his spots. Mannino possesses a good feel and like many of these prospects, has plenty of room for growth.
8. Derek Dixon Derek Dixon 6'4" | SG Gonzaga | 2025 State #153 Nation MD | 6’4 | Gonzaga/ Team Durant
Another dual-sport standout, Dixon showed plenty of progression throughout the summer on a talented Durant 15U team. While he’s a balanced threat as a scorer, one aspect of his game that is underrated is his vision and feel as a passer. He’ll provide extra toughness and production as a part of head coach Steve Turner’s rotation.
9. Omario Witherspoon | 6’3 | Archbishop Carroll/ DC Premier
Witherspoon is a guy who can impact the defensive end of the floor as much as the offensive end. He approaches defense with immense pride and always seems to be causing deflections or coming up with 50/50s. Witherspoon comes equipped with confidence as a shooter from outside and should look to take advantage of the defense knowing as much by getting to the paint by attacking closeouts more frequently this season.
10. Acaden Lewis Acaden Lewis 6'2" | PG Sidwell Friends | 2025 State #149 Nation MD | 6’2 | Sidwell Friends/ Team Melo
Lewis has the best chance to climb up this list in a hurry. When he decided to transfer from St. John’s (DC), he also reclassed from 2024. The 6’2 lefty is extremely shifty on the ball and gets to his spots in the blink of an eye. He scores with craft around the basket and has a lethal floater when the defense happens to stop his drives. He and Rougier-Roane form the most dominant 2025 duo in the DMV.
