Improved strength and physical maturity. Projects as a D3+ point guard. Might a little small for D2 point guard, though his skills will equal the starters on that level. Quickness is a plus and shooting touch continues to make him attractive to coaches.

Great natural strength with a delicious skill set at 6-foot-6ish. Does not really play above the rim consistently, but he projects as a player that eventually will dunk in traffic. Shackleford is a high school “4” and a college 3/4.

Drake was a fringe Top 50 player a year ago, largely on the strength of his outside shooting. As a catch-and-shoot guy back in the summer of 2021, Drake was forecast here as a long-term catch-and-shoot D3 guy for his floor. In the last six months Drake bulked up in the weight room (155-160 lbs) and dramatically improved his toughness in the lane. Drake now looks like a player that will be able to score from any point on the floor. Further, he will now have the upper-body strength to both draw fouls and occasionally finish afterwards. For a guy with elite shooting touch, getting to the free throw line is key to fully realizing his potential.

and looks more like a long-term point guard. His skill is pretty good, but the explosiveness needs improvement. Attacking and defending from the perimeter are areas for growth. Heady. Wonderful teammate.
