We had some of the best players in the class there competing, and we will highlight each and every one of them with our evaluations this week. Today, we will look at all of the prospects from Team 8.
Gray is a smaller 2024 point guard who was active on both ends of the floor. He is a nice finisher inside and he has impressive body control on his drives.
Highlights
Etchison was impressive in all aspects of the game this weekend. The 2024 guard is incredibly smooth with the ball in his hands, and he is smooth around the rim. The best part of his game is no doubt his court vision and passing. He always has his eyes up and looks to create. Very impressive showing from Etchison.
Thomas is a quick 2025 point guard who showed off some nifty finishing moves this weekend. He has good touch around the rim, great body control, and a nice finger roll in transition.
Highlights
Horton is a big 2025 wing who was impressive on Sautrday. He has a ton of length, and he uses his athleticism on the offensive end. He has good touch and is a silky smooth finisher. He has also the court vision to hit the open man if the defense collapses when he attacks.
Highlights
Mitchell is another big 2025 wing who was attacking all game long. He was forcing at times, but you can’t fault a young player for being aggressive. The feel and patience will definitely come.
Schmidt is a big, long 2024 post who rebounded the ball incredibly well. He is very athletic and runs the floor incredibly well. He also showed a nice fastbreak jam. He is definitely a tough matchup with his size and athleticism combo.
Highlights
Toles is a big 2025 post who finished incredibly well in the post. He has good touch around the rim, and he might have had the best footwork of any big man that I saw. He also can handle the ball and looked to push it up the floor when he grabbed the rebounds. On the defensive end of the floor, he uses his length to be a rim protector.
Weaver is a 2025 wing who plays smart and fundamental basketball. He wants to attack when he has the ball, but he is incredibly patient and does not force anything. When he did attack, it was a bucket almost every time.
