Section 3AAAA Rundown
Lets go bottom up. At the end of last season Burnsville was the six seed, Apple Valley the seven, and Hastings the eight. Burnsville had two less wins (three to the five of the others) but Burnsville beat Apple Valley by ten in their late season match-up and Hastings was not perceived to have played as tough of a schedule. This year, Burnsville brings more back from their rotation than AV and Khalif Bettis Khalif Bettis 6'6" | SF Burnsville | 2023 State MN is one of the state’s best players so they get the edge. Hastings has a nice player back in Bernatz but a lot of stuff needs to be filled. In the middle we talk Eagan and Park of Cottage Grove. The Cats have a really nice senior class so that seven wins from last year should double where as Park lost so much it’s tough to see them not rebuilding for the year. At the top, Jefferson will be there because Freitag is that good and Jeff Evans will have them playing tough, but I’m not sure they have enough to over take Eastview. Rosemount has a star lead guard in Ramlall plus three good pieces back but they will need a lot of growth to overtake Eastview. The Lightning senior class is stacked with experienced players at every spot and now they have one of the state’s best juniors (Mekonnen) ready to go from the JV to one of the top spots on the team. Eastview is big, they are experienced, they are long, they are explosive, and they are well coached.
