Section 2AAAA Rundown
The 2AAAA landscape has been a minefield for a long time, but I think the talent level has taken a step back when it comes to one through eight. Don’t get me wrong, Minnetonka, Eden Prairie and Shakopee all have top ten in Class AAAA level talent. That said, Chaska and Edina are going through major changes right now, and while Waconia and Prior Lake have good players, they still have a lot to prove before we can call them contenders. Chanhassen is the group that played much better than expected last season and although they only have two back from the rotation last year, those two are very good. Minnetonka has the most upperclassmen talent though and Eden Prairie has the most dominating player ( Chiddi Obiazor Chiddi Obiazor 6'5" | PF Eden Prairie | 2023 MN ) and the most young talent. Then you have Shakopee who has enough up and coming guards for four or five varsity teams. This should come down to three big Tonka vs EP games though with the likely rubber match coming for state.
