Ten guards were added to the latest edition of the 2024 rankings. This group was particularly impressive over the spring and summer months. Check out this group of new adds:
Collins has a diverse offensive skill set and is dangerous both in transition and from deep during the set offense. He’s tough on the bounce and sticks his nose in for rebounds and loose balls. He can get into the lane on the bounce and find scorers with passes when he doesn’t create his own shot.
The star running back for Olathe North, Porter is equally dynamic in the gym. He is moving at a faster pace than anyone else on the court, and can blow up a defense in transition. Porter is powerfully built and rugged. He throws some creative passes to scorers and knows what a team needs from a point guard. He can shoot it from the outside as well. He gained a ton of experience last season, helping his team to the state tournament.
Rucker shows in club action that he’s a three-level scorer with great range. He shoots it with a high release and without hesitation. He can put it on the floor to get to midrange jumpers, and he is effective going to the goal to score or draw fouls. It’s tough to get minutes at Andover, but we don’t want to overlook the great stuff he showed in spring and summer.
A standout summer with Buddy Buckets earns Voth a spot in the rankings. He earned a ton of experience as his brother Harrison Voth’s multi-sport sidekick as a sophomore. Now he’s ready to take a big step as a junior. He’s a lights-out shooter who plays with intensity at both ends.
Everard is a solidly-built guard who is equally effective running the point or playing off the ball. He earned some valuable experience off the bench as a sophomore. He’s football-tough on the court, getting into the body of defenders and getting to shots in the paint. He is relentless, sees the floor and makes smart decisions.
