In this article we’re going to break down four wings who saw their stock rise in our latest rankings update.
Steele is a prospect who’s versatility and motor make him a threat to produce in any game in any setting. Steele is a unique prospect with impressive change of pace and ball handling for a wing forward. If Steele can continue to improve his jump-shot, his offensive ceiling will grow even higher. Cleveland Heights has a scrappy bunch that should compete for another district title in 2022-23 and Steele fits what they want to do perfectly.
Cranford is a bigger bodied wing guard who had a really impressive spring and summer for Midwest Basketball Club’s 16 U Gold team. Cranford uses his frame and body to create contact first when he attacks and has the strength to overpower smaller guards. An impressive shot maker as well, Cranford is deadly off the catch or as the ball handler in the pick and roll. With Lawrent Rice Lawrent Rice 6’4″ | PG Huber Heights Wayne | 2023 State #184 Nation OH playing alongside him, Huber Heights Wayne has one of the top guard duos in all of SW Ohio this season.

Brewer is a prospect who first jumped onto my radar about a year ago at the Prep Hoops 250 Expo. After a strong performance there, I caught him twice with Antwerp as they made a run to the state semifinals. Brewer then impressed me as the go to option for NW Ohio’s 16 U group this spring. Brewer has continually developed as an off ball scorer and has added some isolation moves to get a bucket when he needs to as well. With Jagger Landers graduating, Brewer will now be looked at as the team leader as the Archers move into a new era of basketball.

Nash is a two sport stud who’s had a lot of early season success on the gridiron but the summer he had with Nova’s 16 U UA Rise group helps his ranking improve on our website. Nash is a floor spacing wing guard who works best as a catch and shoot option either running off screens or catching drive and kick passes. Nash also improved his ability to attack a closeout and score this summer. With a group of seniors graduating, Nash should be the leading option, playing a different role for his high school and grassroots programs, which will help his transition to the college level.
