Check out my analysis on the real GameChangers who I got to get a look at here in Dallas this weekend! These talented prospects shined every second they were on the court, and are really starting to turn heads with their play. Do not be surprised when you see these names pop up everywhere once the season starts to get rolling…
Silas Rodriguez Silas Rodriguez 6'3" | CG Denton Guyer | 2026 State TX 2026 6’2 Denton Guyer High School
Highlights
Silas is a skilled guard who can get it done across all three levels, especially off the bounce. I was very impressed by how well he scored coming off a live dribble and how well he was able to knife through the defense with his handle. He scores well at the rim, and is really successful at getting into the teeth of the defense. He is a real threat in the mid-range, where he punishes teams by fading away from defenders and into open space. Rodriguez also has great vision and ability to control the tempo of the game and create for his teammates. His passes were always crisp and put right into his shooters pockets.
Carter (Cash) Chism 2026 6’2 Mount Pleasant High School
Chism is a lanky guard who seems to have all of the necessary tools to become a successful shooting guard at the next level. He shot the ball well off the catch from the corners and wing spots. His true prowess lies in his incredible end to end speed, especially with a live dribble. A monster in the full court, he loves pressing and pushing the tempo to score and facilitate for his teammates. He is great at manipulating the defense by changing his pace, catching his opponents off guard with his sudden movements and crossovers before successfully darting to the rim. Chism has a great frame, and some high level ability to move and handle the ball.He is a confident shooter from the outside, but I would like to see him work on finishing with more consistency in the paint, especially through contact. I would also like to see him work on controlling the tempo of the game and becoming more of a lead point guard.
Dakari Spear Dakari Spear 6'2" | SG The Colony | 2026 State TX 2026 6’2 The Colony High School
DaKari is an unselfish shooting guard with some real point guard instincts. He made heads up passes to set up his teammates within the half court, knowing that his threat to score across all three levels will open up a teammate somewhere on the court. He makes great decisions and did so out of the high post, the pick and roll, and on the fast break. He creates easy looks after getting to the rim and making an unselfish dump off pass to his teammates. I would like to see him continue to hunt for his own looks, and work on quickly getting his shot up after catching the ball on the perimeter. I would also like to see him work on becoming more of a combo guard and initiating offense for his team, he has a great awareness with and without the ball, and could easily become a real weapon creating for his teammates.
Dj Dorn Dj Dorn 5'9" | PG San Antonio Veterans Memorial | 2026 TX 2026 5’9 Veterans Memorial High School (San Antonio)
Highlights
DJ is a skilled guard who is good at getting downhill and creating offense for himself and his teammates on the fast break. His ability to push the tempo and race up the court allowed him and his teammates to get easy buckets with the defense on its heels. He has great point guard skills, picking apart the defense with crafty passes but his ability to knock down shots off the catch really stood out. He showed an ability to play on and off the ball, but truly was more successful with the ball in his hands controlling the tempo.
Preston Holley Preston Holley 6'5" | SG Euless Trinity | 2026 TX 2026 6’3 Euless Trinity High School
Preston has a nice handle for his size but the best part about his game is the energy and hustle he displayed on both ends of the court. He is a willing rebounder at the guard position, getting easy second chance points for his team, but also collecting defensive rebounds and pushing the tempo himself. His size really stands out right now, and it allows him to get to his spots in the lane and finish at a high percentage at the rim. His ability to do the little things on top of his ability to affect the game from the perimeter makes him a valuable asset at this level. I will be keeping tabs on his development over the next few years!
