Jayden Ndjigue Jayden Ndjigue 6'4" | CG Rivers School | 2023 State NLG who is committed to Umass is a high level player on the team. He was not there yesterday, but he is definitely worth mentioning when talking about the team. Here is my observations from 5 players I saw yesterday.
I was impressed with Andrew’s versatility and his ability to score at all three levels. In the scrimmage, he did a mix of everything on offense. He hit shots from the outside, he posted up, and attacked off the dribble. He has good footwork and a soft shooting touch. He also had one very nice spin move to score at the rim. His passing was good, and he made a good pass out to the wing when the defense collapsed on him on the low block. He is 6’7 and is athletic. He can move like a guard. He has a great mix of an inside and out game. He also rebounds well, and made a few second chance points. He has a good skill set to match his length. He will be a tough matchup night in and out in the ISL
Amir is a very shifty point Guard, who should be on your radar. He has interest from a number of division 1 schools and that list should keep growing. He is very crafty and athletic. He has a high vertical and has very good lateral quickness. He has a variety of dribble moves to get to the basketball and also is a great passer. He reads the defense well and can thread a needle with his passes. He can play very fast, but also can stop on a dime and change the pace. He also has a very soft shooting touch. He can get in the paint and score off one or 2 feet, or draw the defense in and find the open teammate. If you play up on him he can get to the basket, if you give him room he can shoot the three. On defense he is very active and is great pressuring ball handlers and not letting them get by. A skilled player, who is proving he has a division 1 level skill set
Altman is 6-4 shooting Guard. He has a good feel and flow to his game. He could be in store for a breakout season in his sophomore campaign. He has a soft shooting touch and is always a threat from three. He moves well with out the ball, and has a smooth and quick shot release. Altman is good utilizing the pick and pop and flare screen to get open for a three. He has a high basketball IQ and a good understanding of the game.
Talking to coaches they say Jay is a very good leader and extremely hard working. I liked what I saw from Jay at the open gym. He recently received his first division 1 offer and I think he has the skills to play at that level. Jay is a three level scorer with good length. He is a crafty finisher at the rim and has a smooth shooting motion from the outside. He can play in transition or in the half court. He can be just as effective on the ball or off the ball. He also rebounds well for the guard position. Jay had a strong summer season on the Under Armor circuit and should be prime for a big season with Rivers.

Matt is a skilled and hardworking guard. In the open gym he made set three pointers, shots off a cut, attacked the lane and showed his soft floater over 2 defenders. He communicated well on defense, and was in good defensive rotation. This was the first time I saw Matt play live. He is a player that shouldn’t be overlooked on the Rivers squad.
