This event sold out earlier than expected and has a LOT of talent coming through the doors of the Noblesville Boys and Girls Club. There will be a lot of Division II, Division III, NAIA, and Junior College coaches in the gym on Saturday with plenty of players to choose from as they evaluate the best talent our state has to offer. Now, let’s dive on in and highlight six sophomores that college programs should keep a close eye on.
The loaded Class of 2025 is out in full force at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo on Saturday. Barnes, who holds a pair of Division I offers already, is among the most talented of the bunch. He is an elite athlete that has true three level scoring ability and is explosive in the open floor.
Carpenter played his way into a Division I offer from IUPUI this summer after his strong play while playing up an age group with George Hill All Indy 2024. The dynamic point guard is a true playmaker with the ball in his hands. He has a very tight handle, can penetrate the defense consistently, and displays good decision-making for his age. Poised for a big sophomore season at Richmond.
Highlights
One of the more skilled guards in the Class of 2025, Couto had an outstanding summer with Grand Park Premier 2025 and played his way into an early scholarship offer from Huntington. In terms of overall ball skill there aren’t many in Indiana’s 2025 class that can match this Carmel guard. Couto is an elite shooter and should make a splash for the Greyhounds this coming season.
After an excellent summer with Team Teague on the Prep Hoops Circuit, this versatile 6’3″ wing has made a name for himself as a high level prospect throughout the state. Horton is a beast in transition, gets down hill to the rim where he is a great finisher, and has the ball handling ability to create for himself on the perimeter. Has the physical tools to be a great defender as well. Definitely a name to remember as a long-term prospect.
Highlights
In terms of pure shooting ability, Jenkins is as good as they come in the 2025 class. He moves very well on the perimeter around screening action, is always ready to catch-and-shoot, and has a quick release as a high percentage maker. Jenkins was highly productive over the summer and is poised for a great sophomore season at Princeton.
Rivera is a highly skilled guard with excellent ball handling ability, can make tough shots from anywhere on the floor, and can sling the ball across the floor as a passer. His best skill is definitely his shot making as a true three level scorer that can create separation from the defense and get his shot off seemingly any time he wants. Will be a big time scorer at North Central this season.
