Along the way, plenty of players stood out but for this particular article, we’ll highlight the wings and bigs who I saw and thought were effective throughout.
Highlights
Malcolm Day Malcolm Day 6'5" | SF Old Mill | 2023 State MD | 6’6 | Takoma Academy ’23
Day had recently caught our eye at the DMV Elite 80 and was on our radar previously thanks to a productive spring and summer. The 6-foot-6 wing is versatile on both sides of the ball. He can knock down triples with regularity, has good wiggle and explosion off the dribble to get to the rim and once he gets there, can flush it with authority. Day supplied the photographers with plenty of high-flying shots in the open floor.
Falou Aw | 6’6 | Clarksburg ’25
Aw is a prospect that screams upside. He has good size and plus length to pair with a skill set that is just scratching the surface. On a handful of occasions, Aw sized up his defender and knocked down jumpers despite a hand contesting his shot. He found his mark from deep early on and even converted on a few in semi-transition where he was 3-to-5 feet behind the arc. Aw logged consistent efforts on the glass and filled lanes on fast breaks to put him in scoring positions.
Wyatt Norton Wyatt Norton 6'8" | C Bishop O'Connell | 2025 State VA | 6’8 | Madison ’25
I fully expect a breakout winter for Norton as he gets set to partake in his sophomore season. He has great size at 6-foot-8, is a fluid athlete and plays the game with a chip on his shoulder. Norton always looks to prove a point on his drives where he embraces (and most of the time initiates) contact. He can finish above the rim with authority or adjust his body in mid-air to convert through fouls. Norton also spent the afternoon canning three’s when his defender left him any daylight.

Warren Gorman Warren Gorman 6'7" | PF Bishop Ireton | 2023 State VA | 6’7 | Bishop Ireton ’23
Gorman made his presence felt from the opening tip and also showcased and improved offensive repertoire. He manned the defensive glass and took pride in rebounding even when it was out of his area. He took advantage of any looks that came his way inside the paint, but also ventured out onto the three-point line in pick-and-pop actions where with enough time to set his feet and square his shoulders, knocked down shots with confidence. Gorman was also extremely effective in help side rotations where he blocked over a handful of attempts at the rim throughout the afternoon.
Margad Choijisuren | 6’5 | Fairfax ’23
Choijisuren was a prospect that left one of the biggest impressions on me. His blend of size, IQ and overall ability supplied me with the utmost confidence that this kid is a scholarship player. The southpaw wing can handle like a guard and has the mentality of finishing strong on drives after blowing by his man. He even threw down a one-handed dunk in transition that gave you a feel for the athleticism he currently has. He made good decision with the ball in the paint after forcing the defense to collapse and also showed off a smooth left-handed release on his jumper that proved pretty efficient. Most importantly, Choijisuren played hard and on both ends throughout the entire event.

Kai Settles Kai Settles 6'7" | C Jackson Reed | 2024 State MD | 6’7 | Jackson-Reed ’24
Even if you wanted to, it would’ve been impossible to ignore Settles on Sunday with how dominant he was on the glass. His efforts in that regard were similar to the efforts in the way guards approach scoring the ball in this sort of event. I caught Settles for multiple games and he corralled at least 12 rebounds in each contest. He allowed those efforts to fuel his offensive production and much of the time was feasting as the trailer on fast breaks that he helped initiate with outlet passes. He also stepped outside and knocked down some three’s or had spurts of attacking his man off the dribble in order to get to the rim. Settles should be a valuable piece on a talented Jackson-Reed squad this season.
