Osby was very impressive at camp, especially as a player embarking upon his freshman season at the high school level. He is a highly skilled guard that can stroke the rock from deep. His skill set is one thing that really set him apart. His footwork out on the perimeter with the ball in his hands was extremely precise and helped create angles where there would seem to be none. His hesi move off the bounce kept defenders off balance, as most who attempted to defend him had no answers. He is a very heady player that understands the game and should be a name that college coaches need to familiarize themselves with now. He was one of the top playmakers who balanced getting his own and getting his teammates involved. He was very tough, played fearless, and was willing to take on all challenges from some of the bigger guards at camp.

I have put ink on Jordan before, and since the last time I did so, he has made sizeable jumps in his game as he prepares for his senior campaign. He is an explosive guard with the ball in his hands and was an offensive juggernaut. He scored at multiple levels and was one of the hardest players to keep out of the paint throughout the entire camp. He showed a variety of finishing moves in the paint, and when he wasn’t finishing himself, he was collapsing the defense and finding open shooters. He handles the ball on a string and uses his dribble to get places. He has a quick first step coupled with blow-by speed and does an excellent job of keeping his head up, which allows him to see the floor and make the correct read with the ball when he is attacking off the bounce. He is very comfortable balancing running the show and being a volume scorer. He made his case as being one of if not the best player that stepped on the court at the #PHTennesseeTop250.

Issac was hands down one of the best perimeter shooters at the camp. He put on a show from behind the arc with his massive production. He is a marksman from behind the arc that has to be accounted for whenever he is in the game. Often when you see someone that shoots the ball as well as Issac does, you tend to see limitations as an off-the-dribble creator, but this is not the case with Issac. He also has the ability to create off the bounce, which kept defenders unsure how to defend him. Issac is a talented scorer, and it caught me by surprise how crafty he is with the ball in his hand, being such a dynamic scorer from deep. He has good size as a rising sophomore, and if he gets a couple more inches, we will be having a different conversation if that happens.

It would be extremely easy to just say look up one player and read about Isaac Power, and you will have your eval of Dillon’s game. However, you know that is not how I do it. In his own right, Dillon is a player who got it done from behind the arc. Dillon showed a potent offensive game throughout the day and was getting it done at all levels. He functions as a triple-threat player that can contribute as a shooter, passer, and driver and does all three with skill and efficiency. Dillon is always locked and loaded, ready for an opportunity to get a look at the basket when the ball touches his hands. I am looking forward to seeing how productive he can be during his sophomore campaign.

Xialin had the middle game working early and often. One thing for sure is that he can score the rock and proved that he could do it with the best that were at camp. He is a lefty with a smooth game yet has a quick burst when attacking downhill. He looked to push tempo every chance he got, which was an advantage for his squad as it benefitted teammates who got out in transition and ran the floor with him. Xialin, offensively is a guard that can get to the rim whenever he wants. As much as we can evaluate and pick apart X’s game, the truth is that he was one of the camp’s most potent midrange assassins. Being a ’24 kid, Xialin should be a stock riser the last two seasons of his high school career and should have a place to take his talent when the time comes to go to the next level.

Anthony Medlock (6’5/G|F/’23)

Anthony came into camp and immediately made his presence felt. He has good positional size and was one of the most physical guards at the camp. He was in attack mode as he is a downhill attacking guard that was not going to be denied. I will return to his offensive prowess in a moment, but I want to highlight something that happened in one of the games Anthony was in that showed me that he is a different breed. The aforementioned Jordan Frison was giving people the business the entire game, and as the game got late in the second half, it was close. Anthony checked back in the game, sprinted to Jordan, and picked him up full court for the rest of the game, stifling his offensive production. I am not sure how many others saw this, but it was a game-changer for me. Yes, he is difficult to contain off the bounce, and he impacts the stat sheet in all areas. Yes, he showed his scoring acumen, and yes, he rebounded at a high rate. However, there was no other player at the camp that had a better defining moment at camp than Anthony did. Not sure how recruitment is going, but coaches, call me, and I will share why you may want to give this young man a look.
