Treyson Anderson Treyson Anderson 6'9" | C Pius X | 2024 State NE | 6′ 9 PF | Pius X (pictured)
Anderson is a 6’9 F who has played along side some great bigs at Pius last year. He’s got great length and size and utilizes that in his rebounding. A great aspect I like in his game is his passing ability. He’s very unselfish and has some solid vision. Great double down kick outs and backside looks to teammates for open shots. Good cutter and finds soft spots. Really like how he keeps ball high on both the catch and his finishes, keeping it away from defenders and giving himself ability to draw fouls against smaller players. Great rebounder and shot blocker to go along.
Quientan Mccafferty Quientan Mccafferty 6'9" | C Concordia | 2024 State NE | 6’9 C | Omaha Concordia
McCafferty ran with a loaded 16u Omaha Elite squad this summer but that did not stop him from getting his buckets. The 6’9 center is fairly mobile but works very hard down low for positioning. Great at getting mismatches and attacking that mismatch. Strong finisher but has some great touch around the rim. Great rebounder with some high IQ tipouts. Moves his feet well on defense and very able shot blocker. Big fan of this young mans game.
Kendall Hinton Kendall Hinton 6'4" | PF Lincoln Southeast | 2024 State NE | 6’6 PF | Lincoln Southeast
Hinton is an absolute bulldog on the court. Not as tall as some of these other names in this article but he’s incredibly strong and doesn’t shy down from a challenge. Very alert defender that communicates well and works hard on the boards. Doesn’t commit a lot of unnecessary fouls, plays straight up more often than not. Workhorse on the boards on both ends of the floor. On the offensive end very strong takes. More of a bully ball player on the offensive end.
Bhan Buom Bhan Buom 6'5" | SF Wasatch Academy | 2024 NE | 6’7 G/F | Lincoln Southwest
Buom is a very intriguing prospect out of the 2024 class. 6’7 guard and forward with a ton of length. I would consider him more of a big guard with his ability to handle the rock but he showed flashes of his low post game this summer. Does a fantastic job of creating contact down low and finishing off two. Very fluent jumper from the left side, shoots the three very well. At his height he will be tough to defend for both guards and forwards as he will be able to shoot over one and blow by the other. Buom will provide some headaches for opposing teams this winter. Runs well in transition for some easy dunks. Tenacious on-ball defender with some great lateral quickness and a great shot blocker.
Joey Vieth Joey Vieth 6'3" | PF Gretna | 2024 State NE | 6’3 SF | Gretna
Vieth appears to be a confident shooter and able ball handler. I think you could probably consider him a two guard as well. He’s just a guy that is gonna accept his role on the team, be a coachable player. In the game I watched he was setting away screens getting his teammates open looks but also shot a couple threes along with the occasional drive. He’s not one to force a shot. He will pass it up if contested but can knock down the jumper. He was on top of his teams 1-3-1 to start the game and was working. Versatile prospect with some upside on the football field as well.
