It was nice to see a Top 250 veteran like Thomas III excel. He’s added some muscle to his frame and he most obviously has learned how to use it. Thomas III was a physical rebounder that used his muscle to gain position. He took the ball to the rim hard on a straight line path and bulldogged his way to the finish. Truth be told, he was one of the most improved players I saw this year.

I feel like we got to see the whole package at the Top 250 this year. Let’s start with his shooting stroke. If there was a statewide 3 point contest, he should be in it. The best thing about his day though, was the evident growth of his game. Vanlaningham showed that he could put the ball on the floor and finish through contact.
Honestly, I had a hard time leaving off my Top 15. Buckley made that kind of impression. He was much more of a pure athlete than I think I expected. He was able to get up off the ground and go after a rebound on the backboard. Buckley also showed that he could step outside and bury a jumper.

I started preaching about Odoms during the David Barns Showcase. It was there where I met him and had the opportunity to coach his team. The young man is a gamer and a hih speed offensive player. Odoms can shoot and finds room to get it off. There are plenty of schools out there that should give him a look.

Good student, good player, and an extremely coachable player. What else could you ask for? Mielock is all of those things. If you watched him this weekend, you would have seen a defensive stopper. He’s strong enough to guard a few different positions and he’s willing to do the defensive dirty work.
Foreman has some showtime point guard in him. He can simply find lanes and paths for the ball to go through that most of us can’t see. It’s like he has eyes in his ears sometimes. Foreman sees and feels the entire court and will get his scorers the ball. He does a great job of penetrating the lane, drawing the defense, and dishing off the ball for a bucket.
Zamarron plays with some passion and fire. I always knew that he was a steady guard that could set the table for his teammates, but I didn’t necessarily know that his jumper was as good as it was on Saturday. The young man can fill it up if the defense gives him toom.
This is a young man who I’ve been lucky to know as a player and as a person. College coaches, you’ll love both versions of him. He’s an athletic perimeter player that has a pure and confident jumper. I was happy to see that he was perfectly comfortable with opponents speed and pace of the game. That’s a gret sign for this young talent.
Miller grabbed my attention late in the day. In a time when players were getting tired and slowing down, he was absolutely getting after it. He did a great job cutting hard to the basket and doing it pass ready looking for the ball. Miller was active and bouncy in the lane. He showed a pretty free throw line jumper as well.

Jefferson is another player that I had a hard time leaving off my Top 15. From me to you Mr. Jefferson, you had a top 15 type of day. He was a good old fashioned shot taker and shot maker. Jefferson scored from all 3 levels, even attacking the rim and finishing with flare.
