Iowa's Top 250 Expo took place at [program_tooltip program_id='2075605' first='Kingdom' last='Hoops'] this past weekend. The gym was packed with players and coming from Nebraska I got the opportunity to see some Iowa talent for second year in a row. Here are some standouts from the expo that I saw.

[player_tooltip player_id='1587746' first='Mekhi' last='Gossitt'] | 5'11 PG | Prairie 2024

Gossitt appeared to be more of a left handed facilitating point guard for his squad. Ran the one guard and got his guys looks, especially on attacks. Had a nice baseline drive, followed by a swing pass to the opposite corner. He's shifty, got a tight handle, and very quick. He was constantly finding a way to the rim off the bounce. He's crafty with his finishes and has the ability to knock down some tough shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='1288925' first='Trevian' last='Carson'] | 6'4 CG | WDM Valley 2023 (pictured)

I list Carson as a guard because of how he plays but you could almost play him at the SF with his frame and strength around the basket. Finished a lot off two feet but once you check him out you will see why, very strong finisher that is not afraid to initiate contact one bit. Will post up smaller guards. He can handle it and he shoots it well from deep. He's aggressive on the defensive end, on ball pressure, getting in passing lanes, and rebounding. Grab and go type of guy. Will rise up and throw one down as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1874789' first='Wisdom' last='Fode'] | 6'1 PG | DM Hoover 2025

If you like a guard that can really create off the dribble then Fode is your guy. Tight handle, shifty, athletic, and creates for himself and teammates. Scored a lot off the slash paired with some soft touch at the rim to make for some tough finishes. He does a great job of finishing around the defense. Has some crafty finishes in his arsenal as well. His playmaking ability is one to take notice of too. Great downhill vision and finds his guys in transition as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1171665' first='Brady' last='Martin'] | 6'0 CG | West Burlington 2024

Martin is definitely a guy you want on your team. He's got great vision. He was seeing cutters and teammates on his dribble drives. Very explosive with the ball in his hands. Showed off a quick first step and it seemed all he needed was one dribble before he was getting to the rim and finishing a layup. Got by his guy with usually one move. He was an on ball pest and wasn't giving his guy much room to do anything, and got his hands in passing lanes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1423351' first='Tysen' last='De Vries'] | 5'8 PG | Pella Christian 2024

De Vries is another quick and athletic slashing guard that really caught my eye. Very quick first step, and if you don't get in front of him by then he will have blown by you. At 5'8 he may not be the tallest player on the floor but he has learned that he may have to get crafty with his finishes and he did. He runs the floor in the transition and got himself some layups in the game I watched. His lateral quickness and ability to keep his man in front is something to boast about as well.
