Continue ReadingIt is no surprise that the level of talent is starting to rise in the state of Idaho as players are really performing at a high level and some are even getting poached to different programs across the country. There are quite a few programs that are loaded with talent so we take a look at some of the players that will hit the rankings.
It is not hard to see that the top player and probably players in this class are teammates. One is heading to Virginia and one has decided to stay local as he will be attending Idaho State. Blake Buchanan Blake Buchanan 6'10" | PF Lake City | 2023 State #172 Nation ID and Kolton Mitchell Kolton Mitchell 6'1" | PG Lake City | 2023 State ID . One has elite size and mobility that attracted a lot of coaches across the country. Not a lot of players that can hang with him one on one as he posses a major challenge to defenders and teams as a whole. Kolton on the other hand is tough and can get buckets from all over, he shoots the ball well and still has room to improve.
Kobe Kessler Kobe Kessler 6'3" | PG Hillcrest | 2023 State ID is a rising PG out of Hillcrest that can play on the ball or off the ball that has showed some next level speed and he has next level skills.
Sawyr Hansen Sawyr Hansen 6'6" | CG Eagle | 2023 State ID is one of the best CG’s in the state and he will have a team like Eagle playing well with the type of production he can produce.
Samuel Lapumba Samuel Lapumba 6'9" | PF Canyon Ridge | 2023 State ID is one of the rare players that will have an odd 5th year senior season. We will bring more of that in a future player spotlight, but this kid is a force and he is one of the best rim running bigs you will see. Canyon Ridge might have lost a solid player but they still have some dudes.
The big fella Michael Day Michael Day 6'10" | C Middleton | 2023 State ID is an impressive big that has a few local D1 JUCOS interested as he could really pay off with some time and development. He could be a stock riser in this class.
While the rankings had to be revamped we have found. lot of talent scattered all over the state. Feel free to send us players we have missed and players we should be keeping and eye on via our Twitter account. Stay tuned.
