Though just an incoming freshman, Deuce looked so confident with the ball in his hands during varsity summer league action. He’s a shifty point guard who loves to create off the dribble, able to get into the paint and finish on his own or dump it off to one of his bigs. Deuce is dangerous in the pick & roll because of his ability to knock down pull-up jumpers if his man goes under, while also having the passing accuracy to thread the needle to his forward rolling to the basket. Has the look of an instant impact freshman ready to go at upperclassmen for Oak Creek HS.

MJ is already known a bit as a high potential prospect, but had a quieter sophomore season as the touches weren’t always there. He showed how dominant he can be at times with a five game stretch of 15, 25, 10, 20, and 14 points, and I think those type of games should be a lot more consistent as a junior. He has some “athletic freak” to him as he stands roughly 6’7 with a strong frame and some explosive bounce that threatens to bring a rim down every time he goes up to finish. MJ is showtime in transition but also has the coordination to catch off of short cuts to the rim and quickly elevate to throw down with power. He’s not just an athlete though as he has a solid handle on the perimeter and the ability to catch fire from three. Once he sees one go in early, he’s a streaky shooter who can put up points in a hurry. Also a dominant shot blocker because of how quickly he can get off the floor combined with his long wingspan.
Kenosha Tremper graduated their top two scorers from last season (both guards) so you can expect the ball to be in Dejuan’s hands a lot more this winter. He was a new addition to the Tremper program last season and showed some nice flashes as a ball handler. Graise is really smooth with the ball in his hands and has a nice looking stroke from beyond the arc. This off-season he’s looked to have added some explosiveness, which should help him hang in the air and finish at a higher level this winter. Dejuan is a willing passer with good vision in the open floor, and with two athletic wings around him he should be able to rack up assists in transition this winter.

After three straight winning seasons, this will likely be a rebuilding year for Bradford. They don’t return much, so Dre Jennings will be stepping into a much bigger role. He was a 4 ppg scorer last season, but had some nice flashes in fall league leading up to the season. He’s a shifty guard who’s fearless attacking the basket, and has the body control to finish in a variety of ways around the basket. Really good at getting to his spots off the dribble, and showcased a nice pull-up jumper from mid-range in the games I’ve seen of him.
The numbers last season may not have been eye catching (4.1 ppg, 1.6 apg, and .9 spg), but Eli Podoll Eli Podoll 6’1″ | PG Franklin | 2024 State WI can play. Heading into his junior season the ball will be in his hands a lot more, and he’s a true floor general who’s going to set his scorers up with timely passes for high percentage shots. Eli never looks sped up and just finds ways to get into the paint before kicking it out to open shooters. Defensively he’s someone you can throw on the opposing team’s best player and just have him give them fits the whole game. Has no fear pressuring the ball out on an island, and has great timing to poke the ball free when his man gets sloppy. Franklin is always in contention for the conference title, and I don’t expect that to change this season.

Playing alongside a loaded senior trio, Termarion was often the fourth option for Case last season. That’s going to change this year as Brumby has the chance to put up some impressive scoring numbers. He put up 8 ppg for a team that made it to the D1 state semi-finals, and with more touches I wouldn’t be surprised if that number at least doubles. Brumby is as tough as they come at the guard spot, with a strong frame that allows him to play through some contact on his way to the basket. If there’s a gap to the rim, you can bet that Termarion is going to drive through it and get to the rack. That toughness also translates to the glass as he averaged over 6 rebounds per game as a 6’1 guard. Defensively he’s someone you can trust to guard the opposing team’s top player and force them to take difficult shots. Excelled in that role as a scrappy defender for Wisconsin PGC over the spring/summer.
Robinson had an impressive freshman season as he finished with just over 10 ppg, but it’s the final stretch of games he had that makes me believe he could be in for an even bigger sophomore year. Over the last five games of the season he was averaging 18 ppg, including 25 against a tough Milwaukee Washington team. He’s an absolute sharpshooter from beyond the arc with no shortage of confidence in his shot. If he has the space, you can bet he’s going to let it fly. Has good instincts on defense to jump passes and get on loose balls allowing him to pick up a bunch of steals as well. He’ll be a part of a solid backcourt for Park hoping to turn things around after a 4-21 season.
