Continue ReadingI have already done an article with my East vs West all level all star teams. I decided to give the small schools one of my own. Again, these aren’t always the best players, or most highly ranked. They are built to win, using the strengths and skills that I like to have in a team. Starting on the West side, going six deep for each side.
WEST
This kid can play all over the floor at around 6’3, and I like versatility. He also happens to be one of the best players in all of 2B. He passed the 1,000 career points mark last season as a Sophomore. He’s been a starter since 8th grade. He averaged 26PPG last season. He’s a bucket getter from anywhere, and a great competitor. I like players that compete.
With him, the West has a true post player and a good one. He’s big bodied and skilled, which makes it tough to stop him at the 2B level. Not many teams have a player that size and that skilled. He’s got a nice touch and can step out and hit the three. Counting on him to get easy buckets in the paint.
Another big time scorer. He got 20PPG last year as a sophomore. 15PPG as a freshman and will pass the 1,000 mark next season. He can play either guard spot, and is versatile on the defensive side. He’s one who can get hot in a hurry, but also scores on all levels. He rebounds, and he’s a gamer. I’m not worried about the West being able to score.
Another versatile player. Averaged 18PPG last season for Ilwaco as a sophomore. He’s a competitor, and will rebound and play hard. He can score from all levels, but might be best in the mid-range. He runs the floor. He can score with his back to the basket. I probably use him at the four with this team.
Another one that can play either guard position. Averaged 16PPG as a sophomore last year. He’s a great ball handler. He is good at breaking down the defense with the dribble and he can shoot the three. I will put him at the point, but would rather this team run with it, and they have four players who can grab and go. He doesn’t turn the ball over much, he’ll compete, and play smart.
Hunter Hazen

This is my sixth man. He’s here for one reason and that is because he competes. He will do the dirty work. He won’t take bad shots, he’ll play defense, rebound, and run the floor. He’s a tough kid, and I know he will give me effort. I have enough scoring, so I added that glue guy to help out wherever I need as, well as defend multiple positions. He always gets out and runs the floor, which means he will get easy ones on this team. Probably the toughest player on either side.
EAST
He’s, only a sophomore this year, but that doesn’t matter much. He was the MVP of his league last year. He’s a tough guard who has decent size, and he will use that to get into the lane and score. He’s a good three point shooter. He handles the ball well. He plays with confidence and competes. He got around 18PPG last year for a Burbank team that went to the state tournament and will be dangerous for the next few years.
He made my East team for all levels. He’s also an all level scorer, who can play any spot on the floor. He’s a great shooter with deep range. His ability to create space and shoot off the dribble is impressive. At 6’6, he will play the three but could play the point if needed. He’s got big game experience, and he’s a competitor. He’s already played in two state championship games for Brewster. Last season, he was injured at the state tournament, came back the next game and played on one leg basically. He was still the difference maker in the semi final game. He’s also the most talented player in 2B.
Highlights
This kid is an explosive athlete. The best athlete at the 2B level, he could be the best prospect. He’s picked up his game and will be a problem for other teams next season. He’s got great size for a guard, combined with that athletic ability. He will get to the rim, which is where he’s best. He’s a highlight reel in the open floor. He can guard any position. I can put him wherever I want and not even worry about it.
Burbank had a freshman duo with him and Frimodt last year that you just don’t see. I believe he finished as runner up for league MVP, to Frimodt. He’s a player who can do a lot of things. He’s a great shooter and rebounder. He’s got good size at 6’3 for a perimeter player. Another great athlete who is very skilled.

His Cle Elum team only lost one game during last season, but ran into Burbank in the district championship, winner to state, loser out game. He was a double double player. He rebounds and he’s skilled in the paint, but can take it outside and hit jumpers. He was, the leading scorer on a good team as a junior. Any kid that averages a double-double, or close to it, is a competitor. An important theme for my squads. He can play or defend any position, and gives you options.
Lincoln Foland

He represents the defending 2B champion, Liberty. He played a key role last season on an otherwise senior heavy team. I had a lot of options here for my sixth man, but ultimately had to go with the big game experience. He has deep shot ability, and can provide some instant offense off the bench. At 6’2, he’s another versatile player who I can plug into several positions.
