John Kinziger John Kinziger 6'0" | CG De Pere | 2023 State #257 Nation WI — DePere
Kinziger has had an outstanding high school career. The DePere standout is a tremendous overall prospect who I have really enjoyed watching over the past couple of years. Kinziger — who recently committed to Illinois State — is set to have a massive senior season. I really love the versatility that the guard brings to the table. He can play either guard position really well and is able to score in many different ways.
Cal Klesmit Cal Klesmit 6'2" | CG Neenah | 2023 State #235 Nation WI — Neenah
Coming off a serious knee injury, I have been very impressed with how Klesmit has returned to his previous form. The UW-Green Bay commit is a very talented scorer who can get buckets at all three levels. He has a deadly three-point stroke and is very crafty when slashing to the rim. Klesmit is also a tremendous passer. On the offensive end of the court, Klesmit is an elite player.
Tyran Cook Tyran Cook 6'1" | SG Waukesha South | 2023 State WI — Waukesha South
I really like watching Cook play. Currently ranked just outside of the top ten, I wouldn’t be surprised if the combo guard is turning heads by the end of the winter. Cook has a game that could translate perfectly to the college level. He is a very talented slasher who is able to use his rare blend of pure athleticism and skill to score. Look for college programs to jump on Cook if he has a big senior season.
Gavyn Hurley Gavyn Hurley 6'4" | CG Middleton | 2023 State WI — Middleton
Playing for a really good Wisconsin Swing squad this past AAU season, Hurley was a standout player. Hurley is a guard with tremendous positional size who plays with a lot of skill on both ends of the court. The combo guard has a pretty three-point stroke and is very good around the rim. On the defensive end of the court, Hurley is a gritty, hard worker.
Demerius Shakur Demerius Shakur 6'2" | CG Martin Luther | 2023 State WI — Martin Luther
Because he plays for a top AAU program in the state, I have had plenty of opportunities to watch Shakur play over the years. And each time I watch the combo guard play, the more impressed with him I am. While he may not be the flashiest prospect on this list, Shakur just flat out gets the job done. He is a talented passer and very underrated as a scorer. If I was a college coach, I would certainly consider offering Shakur.
Austin Herro Austin Herro 6'2" | CG Whitnall | 2023 State WI — Whitnall
Even though he has been dealing with injuries, Herro returned this AAU season and turned some heads. The Whitnall standout is a very good passer; if a teammate is open, chances are Herro will find them. The combo guard plays with a very high IQ on the offensive side of the court. He rarely makes mistakes and always seems to make the right basketball play.
