Highlights
El-Amin is a five-foot-ten-inch guard from Minnetonka and Adidas D1 Minnesota. El-Amin is fast in transition, if defenders aren’t getting back before he has a line to the basket they aren’t preventing him from getting a lay-up. El-Amin has a quick dribble that allows him to get separated from defenders to make jumpers. He is a good spot-up shooter from the perimeter and plays very unselfishly and does a good job setting up teammates.
Owen Carlson Owen Carlson 6’3″ | SG Mahtomedi | 2023 State MN is a six-foot-four-inch guard from Mahtomedi and played 2022 summer with Grassroots Sizzle. Carlson is an excellent spot-up shooter from the perimeter and when possible, doesn’t shy away from putting down a dunk. With that athleticism if you get caught ball watching he’ll back cut on you and score a quick bucket. In July Carlson picked up two offers, one from Metropolitan State and the other from Augustana.
Nathan Fenske Nathan Fenske 6’2″ | SG Lakeview | 2023 State MN is a six-foot-two-inch guard from Lakeview that played 2022 summer the Minnesota Comets. Fenske is an explosive two-footed jumper who will hammer dunk on defenders either off a quick cut or a leak out. Fenske releases quickly in transition to get in front of defenders and finish in transition using solid body balance and his strength. Fenske is also an excellent second jumper. This skill allows him to offensive rebound and score quickly off short misses. When his feet are set and he’s catching and shooting, he’s a threat from the perimeter.

Maxsamus Wilson Maxsamus Wilson 6’3″ | CG Hopkins | 2023 State MN is a six-foot-three-inch guard from Hopkins and played 2022 summer with Gain Elite. Wilson will play the role you need of him and can flip it on when the moment comes. In a December game versus Osseo Wilson may not have taken a shot, but assisted on 7 buckets. In an April AAU game he put in 27 second half points for a game high 33 points. From outside he made at least five 3’s, and worked defenders off the dribble.
Jalen Cain Jalen Cain 6’3″ | SF Minnetonka | 2023 State MN standing six-foot-three-inches, Jalen Cain Jalen Cain 6’3″ | SF Minnetonka | 2023 State MN has never seen a transition opportunity he didn’t like. Cain will pressure defenders on the perimeter to force turnovers and then immediately fly route his way towards his own basket where more often than not he finishes with a flush. Cain is always working, either looking for easy buckets off cuts or drawing charges on defense. This past summer he played with JSizzle on the 3SSB circuit.
Hayden Tibbits Hayden Tibbits 5’11” | PG Wayzata | 2023 State MN is a five-foot-eleven-inch “true” point guard from Wayzata and played AAU with Minnesota Fury. Tibbits competes relentlessly, and doesn’t allow being just shy of six-feet to bother his ability to make plays for teammates and knock down jumpers. He uses a touch floater when around the basket and in the paint, and off the dribble can create space to unleash his jumper.

Myles Barnette Myles Barnette 6’2″ | PG Wayzata | 2023 State MN is a six-foot-one-inch guard from Wayzata and played the summer with Minnesota Heat PVR. During his Junior High School season he didn’t get the opportunity to show lead guard skills much but with MN Heat PVR he handled much of the ball handling responsibilities. Barnette has adept finishing skills, uses change of speed moves when the ball is in his hands to get to the rim to keep defenders off balance. Has ability to guard both guard positions with a mature body and good feet quickness.
