Rammel was a standout on the Prep Hoops Circuit with CLP Elite. Rammel was an all state player in Division IV and was high on my list of prospects I needed to watch in the spring. I came away impressed with Rammel almost every time I watched him play, seeing him compete against taller opposition game after game. Rammel was a match-up nightmare at the grassroots level due to his ability to space the floor and guard up positionally. Rammel plays with toughness and has good feel. I expect small college programs to be hard after Rammel this winter.
Westerville South might’ve lost star Drey Carter to graduation, but don’t tell the Wildcats they are due for a down year. Jujuan Ray Jujuan Ray 6’6″ | SF Westerville South | 2023 State OH is a prime candidate to replace some of Carter’s shot making and versatility from the wing position. I was impressed with how fluid Ray played for his Nova-Taylor squad this spring and he really caught some eyes during the last live period in July with strong performances in Fort Wayne. Ray should get a lot of attention from Division III and scholarship programs, playing for a deep Westerville South squad.
Another Prep Hoops Circuit standout, Edwards played with CCB this spring. Edwards is a shot maker from the wing with good touch and the ability to make shots with defenders in his face. Edwards was another all-state member last season and should make it again with a Toledo Start squad that should have big expectations in 2022-23. Edwards biggest improvement will be consistent effort levels on the defensive end and not forcing bad shots, if he can fix those habits, he could be a steal for a small college program.
Highlights
Moore is a player who stood out on a new look Lima Sr squad that graduated a majority of the production from last season. Despite this, the Spartans will still be one of the top teams in NW Ohio and players like Moore will be big reasons why. Moore is a great defender, which is something required to see the floor for Quincey Simpson. Moore also showed flashes of driving to the lane and finishing through contact. I only caught Moore during the month of June and will want to see him again during the winter.
The third Prep Hoops Circuit standout on this list, Ullom made a statement with Mid Ohio Pumas Price this spring and summer. A really impressive athlete, it seemed like every weekend Ullom was posting a new highlight slam dunk that got the gym rocking. If Ullom can get more confident with his jump-shot and continue to improve his ability to attack closeouts, he will be a nice find for a small college. Mason has a couple seniors with college talent and should get some programs checking them out this winter.
