Nicholas Randall (Riverfront Rebels): The 6’8″ forward from Vashon was a force at both ends of the floor in helping lead his team to the championship of the 16U division. The youngster they call “Butta” is a very skilled young big who can score in the low post or back down defenders for smooth turnaround jumpers. He can also step out and hit the open 3-pointers. He also used his length and timing to block shots.
Christian Williams Christian Williams 5'9" | PG Vashon | 2025 State MO (Riverfront Rebels): A 5’10” point guard from Vashon who is very creative off the dribble and has the ability to score from all three levels. The youngster that they call “Mouse” has a feathery touch from 3-point range and he can separate from defenders with his quick and flashy handles to get into the lane for the mid-range jumper or the floater.
Dierre Hill (Riverfront Rebels): A physical 6’0″ combo guard who is a fierce competitor at both ends of the floor with his strength and high motor. He is a tough defender who does not mind guarding multiple positions. He plays much bigger than his actual size because of his work rate. The young lefty was attacking the basket off the dribble to score on layups while also getting to the offensive glass. He also knocked down the open 3-pointer.
Luke Walsh Luke Walsh 6'2" | SG Vianney | 2025 State #374 Nation MO (ING): A 6’1″ guard from Vianney who was one of the top perimeter shooters that I watched during the day. In the game that I saw him, he started off with three long 3-pointers on the first three possessions. As defenders started to push up on him, he started to drive the ball and create a little off the dribble. When faced with the double, he was able to find the open teammate with the pass.
Zyree Collins Zyree Collins 6'0" | PG St. Mary's | 2025 State #338 Nation MO (Riverfront Rebels): A 5’10” point guard from St. Mary’s who is a pass-first point guard with the ability to score. He did a nice job on the pick-and-roll as he can turn the corner and get into the lane or knock down the 3-pointer if the defender stays behind the screen. He is an excellent ball handler who distributes the ball very well.
Miyel Taylor (J-Rock All-Stars): A 6’0″ point guard from University City who has a set of nifty handles that will get him where he wants to go. He did a good job of breaking down defenders and getting into the lane for the runner or floater. He can also shoot the 3-pointer as he made a dramatic triple right before the buzzer to give his team the victory in the quarterfinals of the 17U division.
Michael Rucks (Genesis): A 6’0″ guard from University City who displayed some good offensive talent in the game I watched him. He was creating off the dribble well while knocking down shots from 3-point range. He did a good job of setting up his defenders for whatever move that he wanted to make.
Tre’Von Spears (Miller Career Academy): A 5’8″ point guard who did a nice job while playing up in the 17U division. He is quick with good ball handling skills and the ability to make good decisions with the ball. He could also play off the ball with his ability to hit the open 3-pointer.
Jacob Wood (Kings): A 6’2″ wing from Raytown who did most of his offensive damage around the basket. He is a resourceful scoring threat who would drive to the basket and get buckets at a variety of angles. He can create the contact and had the concentration to finish and get the three-point play. He is also an unselfish player who would find the open teammate when he drew the extra defender.
