Travis Green III Travis Green III 6'2" | SG Hazelwood Central | 2024 State MO (J-Rock Ballers): A 6’2″ guard from Hazelwood Central who plays much bigger than his size because of his high motor. When he gets the ball, he is always in attack mode and he is tough to stop because he is an excellent finisher. He can score in the lane at a variety of angles or he can just go over the top. His mid-range game is second to none as he can get to his spot and just elevate over the defense to get a nice look. He was also hitting the open 3-pointer off the catch. He just plays hard and there’s no substitute for playing hard.
Quinn Sunderland Quinn Sunderland 6'10" | PF Lindbergh | 2024 State MO (Hardwood Elite): The 6’8″ forward from Lindbergh was a force at both ends of the court in the action that I watched on the second day of competition. He has already created a niche as an excellent rim protector who can block and alter shots with his length and very good timing around the basket. He can get to shots that not many other players can get to. On this day, he was very assertive on the offensive end as he commanded the ball and was scoring in the paint on a consistent basis. And his teammates kept feeding him the ball, which I really liked.
Jayden Banks Jayden Banks 5'10" | PG MICDS | 2024 State MO (J-Rock Ballers): A 5’10” point guard from MICDS who showed how he could impact play at both ends of the floor with his speed and quickness. As usual, he was very disruptive on the defensive end as he applied constant on-ball pressure to harass opposing ball handlers. On offense, he uses his quickness to get where he wants to go and he got into the lane for some very nice finishes in traffic. He could also stop on the dime and hit the pull up jumper while also surveying the court to find the open teammate.
Dontrez Williams (Hardwood Elite): A 6’5″ wing guard from Sikeston who has length, athleticism and a vast array of skills, which he displayed during the tournament. He is very adept at playing the playmaker role as he can handle the ball and locate open teammates with his passing. He is very comfortable with the ball in his hands. He can also give you explosive plays in the open court with transition dunks and alley oops in the halfcourt offense.
Quentin Parker (xx): A 6’4″ guard from STEAM Academy at McCluer South-Berkeley who plays a solid, yet smooth all-around game. He is a capable ball handler with a nice perimeter stroke from 3-point range along with an effective jumper from the mid-range area. He has good fundamentals as he doesn’t try to force things. He lets the game come to him. He can also operate in the high post against a zone as a passer and scorer.
Antwan Franklin (Miller Career Academy): A 6’4″ wing with a solid body and a good all-around game that can help his team succeed in a variety of ways. He can handle the ball and facilitate offense when he needs to as well as make open perimeter jumpers. He can attack the basket and use his strength to score against bigger players in the paint. He also rebounds the ball well an plays solid defense.
Jalen Jones (Hardwood Elite): A 6’4″ wing from SLUH who was making a lot of things happen with his athleticism and high motor. He was making a lot of plays on the defensive end with deflections, steals and some timely shot blocking. He can also guard multiple positions with his length and tenacity. He was very good in the transition game where he could fill the lane on the break or hit the 3-pointer on the move.
