I liked Juan Guerrero-Hernandez during the high school season. I like him even more after AAU. The Grafton product played with Wisconsin PGC during the Under Armour Finals and was the opposite of a deer in the headlights while playing on the big stage. A 6-foot-4 point guard with electric handles and an aggressive mindset, Hernandez can really attack off the bounce. When Hernandez gets to the rim, he’s got a variety of different finishing packages. Love him defensively as well. That long wingspan and high motor changes games for his team. This is a very good in-state 2025 class, but given his measurables, two-way ability and upside, think Hernandez belongs near the top right now.
Tough to say where I’m going to start Jaydon Awe Jaydon Awe 6’6″ | SF Pacelli | 2025 State WI , because he’s so raw and filled with potential. You can’t teach 6-foot-7 with a near seven-foot wingspan like this kid has. Pretty much unknown across the state until Wisconsin PGC scooped him up in July, Awe was tucked away in the middle of the state, averaging 14 points and 11 rebounds per game for Pacelli last season. Awe has some freakish length and athleticism about him. Right now, he’s going to make his way cleaning up the offensive glass, running the floor in transition, and protecting the rim, but does show some versatility flashes that could be unguardable down the road if his skills catch up to his physical abilities.
It was definitely a mistake not to have Elijah Griffin Elijah Griffin 6’1″ | PG Westosha Central | 2025 State #352 Nation WI in the initial top 25. The Westosha Central product didn’t have a huge role on varsity as a freshman, but was behind some pretty good guards. For PGC, you could argue Griffin is the straw that stirs the drink. The 6-foot-2 lead guard has some of the best floor vision in the state…maybe the best. He sees things before they happen, can thread the needle with the pass, and always keeps his head up on the drive. Griffin is a pass-first guard, but he can definitely score. Love his ability in late shot clock situations or when the offense is stalling to go in the pick n’ roll and make something happen.
You could make the case that Jamarion Batemon Jamarion Batemon 6’3″ | CG Milwaukee Academy of Science | 2025 State #174 Nation WI is the best shooter in this 2025 class. The Milwaukee Academy of Science guard has got a flamethrower attached to his arm. He fits perfectly in an uptempo system as well, getting up the floor and setting up shop on the 3-point arc while the other guards push in transition, draw defenders into the paint, and kick out. Would like to see Batemon add other parts to his game offensively. He’s a plus-length guard with good size (6-3), but he shoots it at such a high clip anyway, think Batemon should continue to push for a top 10 spot. He’s also a strong defender that can move his feet laterally and impact the passing lanes with that length.
Haven’t been able to see Devin Isaj Devin Isaj 6’5″ | SF Greendale | 2025 State WI live in person yet, but think there’s a noticeable jump on film since last winter. The lefty is a smooth, confident scorer that can do it from all three levels. Love the mid-range game that Isaj possesses. He can score off a spin or a step-back with ease and simply just rise and fire over good contests with his 6-foot-4 frame. Also think Isaj is a guy with some versatility. You can put him on the ball and allow him to be the primary decision maker. Isaj also has that type of game where you can throw him the rock on the block in the half court as well.
You don’t find this type of talent often at smaller schools. Drew Daoust Drew Daoust 6’1″ | PG Southern Door | 2025 State WI definitely looks like the real deal and somebody that’s played his way into the top 25 of the rankings. A star at Southern Door, Daoust put up monster numbers as a freshman and carried those over onto the AAU circuit. A highly skilled guard with a terrific feel for the game, Daoust can carry a team offensively. Watching Daoust play, he always feels one step ahead of the defense. The type of player you want at the controls, Daoust has breakdown ability on the ball, a deadly shooting stroke, surveys the entire floor, and can score from anywhere on the floor.
