Nearly 200 of the top Class of 2026 prospects in the state took part in the event with a ton of area scouts and AAU coaches taking in all of the action. Our team at Prep Hoops Indiana including myself, Kyler Staley, and Landon Bundy will be putting out an evaluation of every single prospect in attendance throughout the course of this week. Let’s dive on into breaking down the prospects on Team 1.
Sims is a smaller, but quick point guard that showed his ability to facilitate the offense throughout the day on Sunday at the Prep Hoops Indiana Showcase. He is good in transition, plays with pace in the half court, and flashed good court vision with the ball in his hands.
One of several talented Gary West Side prospects in the gym on Sunday. Schultz is a 5’9″ point guard with good instincts on both ends of the floor. He showed his ability to play off of ballscreens offensively and had active hands on the defensive end of the floor.
This prospect from West Lafayette High School is a skilled left-handed guard that can play both on and off the ball in the backcourt. He is very good with the ball in his hands consistently getting to the basket on Sunday and showing the ability to finish with either hand. Werth can also catch-and-shoot with a sweet lefty stroke when playing off of the ball.
One of the talented twin-duo from Gary West Side, Bryce Cooper Bryce Cooper 5’11” | SG Gary West Side | 2026 IN is a 5’11” guard with strong driving ability. He displayed a good handle at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase with several combination moves that allowed him to get into the paint consistently. Very quick with the ball in his hands.
Murphy is a 5’11” point guard from Penn High School that displayed good playmaking ability on Sunday. He can drive it in either direction, is under control enough to make decisions on the fly, and finishes well at the end of his drives.
This 6’1″ guard from Taylor High School has an athletic, strong frame and shot the ball well at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. McClatchey can score the ball in a variety of ways and was one of several talented 2026 prospects from Taylor at the event.
Highlights
Sutton has good size as a 6’3″ forward with some present strength for his age. He displayed good footwork around the basket, some mobility running the floor in transition, and the ability to rebound his area. One to keep an eye on as he continues to develop at Westfield.

This 6’3″ forward showed off some offensive versatility throughout the day on Sunday. Craney can score both from the perimeter and with his size around the basket. Definitely will be a name to remember down at Perry Central High School in years to come.

Hazelett was one of the most impressive prospects at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase on Sunday. The 6’7″ wing is a great ball handler for his size, consistently finished up at the rim at the end of his drives, and showed great versatility on both ends of the floor.
